NO, with G5 there are three standard settings

I know I'm off  on the second two settings, give or take 300 dpi.

The default is 3 settings (I'm at work and don't know the numbers)

If you install the setpoint software that comes with it, you can pre program up to 5 settings with the lowest setting at 400DPI and the highest at 2000DPI.

I read somewhere on these forums that the setpoint software takes up 17Mb of RAM but I haven't confirmed this.

Hope this helps?

The setpoint does more than that. It makes your mouse buttone all weird also. If you use to just mapping your buttons through windows dont use the setpoint. It really does suck and does pose some problems. Especially with the thumb side button(i use it for TS ) The preset DPI without Setpoint with plug and Play are on the fly  high is 2000(or 3000)  med(1200) Low(800) As i remember. I use default plug and play. Its works wonderfully. Use high to fly, med for ground  and low to snipe.

There are 3 settings by default i.e without any drivers, but you get 5 settings with the setpoint software.
The setpoint software can do all kinds of mapping stuff.

The mouse gets shipped with 3 levels of sensitivity programmed, 400, 800 and 2000 dpi. Installing the setpoint software will allow you to program 5 set points from 400 to 2000 dpi but these are the limits.

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes the thumb button can't be mapped in BF2 or BF2142 but this can be remedied by changing the mapping in setpoint from it being a back button (which still works even when it is changed) to being a generic button. It can then be mapped to any function in other programs.

lol, hardly two answers the same.

I have a G7, the soft wear is the same i think.  range is 400 to 2000.  standard values are 400 / 800 / 2000.
You can set any 5 points in the range.
Note, i think they only allow 50 DPI steps? cant remember.
eg 400 / 450 / 500.....etc

Don't bother flaming me for getting a wireless mouse OK, i will never go back to corded, and i use the PC for lots of other stuff.  I cant blame the delay every time i die, i am just that bad

Got a G5, great mouse when I got use to it and love the dpi settings, very handy.

Problem I've had with it is trying to get BF2 to allow me to  set either of sideways scroll buttons or BF2142 to set anything except the two main buttons and the scroll... guess I just need to play with the setting some more.

Well my G5 came in, and i have my DPI settings at, 400-800-1200-1600-2000 And in order for you to make ur side scrolls, and thumb buttons work, you can go into your loader, or whatever its called and program your buttons to a key stroke ( ]  [ = etc.). and thats what i did Works great for me.
