I'm sure anyone who's played BF2 for more than a day has experienced a annoying issue known as "clipping". Its when any part of a friendly or even enemy gets stuck in the wall. It may be half the body or even just a small part of it, but either way it prevents that person from being revived and it looks really ugly, and takes alot of what little realism BF2 has away.

Another problem with this is enemys can shoot you through fences or thin objects, as well as you can shoot them. I've shot people through these fences only to be accused of hacking and actually kicked from the server, when in reality a small part of there character was just sticking through it.

I find it hard to believe that with all the advancments in graphics and physics have had, this is still such a common issue.

Any comments or opinion on how this could be fixed. It may be a video card specific issue, I dont know, but its very annoying and ugly.

I've had my share of thin object kills. I once was attacking an enemy as Support. Behind the guy was a thin fence and behind that there was a team member. I got a kill and a team-kill at the same time and got kicked.

One thing that could solve clipping is the bending of joints. In HL2 if there's a character in a strange position, like a stairway or a ramp, their legs will bend and move in the right way so it doesn't clip.

There's something I liked about Call of Duty that helped with clipping. You couldn't just magically goto prone, you could only If you'd fit. In BF2, you can go prone anywhere, which causes clipping when you're right next to a wall. If dice would have added something like this, it would have gotten rid of 95% of all the clipping that happens in the game.

I also liked how COD dealt with proning because you could also not shoot and move in prone (anyone who owns a gun, try wiggling forward and shoot accurately). You couldn't rely on proning to win all your battles, or you'd end up seeing a lot of 'prone blocked', with you sucking up 71 bullets from a PPSH. You also couldn't pronespam at all in COD. (you still can in BF2 1.4).

Yeah, that's why UO was so good. CoD infantry gameplay with vehicles. If it CoD2 had the scope of BF2. Would've been a killer.

CSS / HL2 has it sorted perfectly. Bodies fly against walls, hang off, roll down stairs and curl up in heaps. You could even shoot the Combine with the crossbow and have them hanging off of walls by the bolt and then shoot their legs and watch them swing about It is wonderful, looks really good, professional and they would be able to be revived as well

I don't know.  Nothing makes me happier than knifing someone clipping through a wall.  I just think it's hilarious.  If you've been playing long enough, you just instintively don't go prone somewhere where you'll clip through.
