When I start bf2 and select a server and hit join game i crash back to desktop. Anyone else having this problem? Or is it because I installed the bf2142 demo? LOL
I had it ones, re patched and it worked
For me that problem perminantly went away after I installed 1.4, I assume you already have 1.4 installed though.
Try this: instead of hitting Join Game or escape, make sure auto ready is check and just wait a minute for the spawn screen to bring itsself up. Back when I had that problem this would always work.

i had it once ... i used the other desktop icon (play bf2 online) instead of the normal one (bf2) then i quitted the game and started it again ... and it worked after this (i dunno how xD)
Im still trying to install patch 1.4. I cant get it to take, it says that it cant find the bf2 install folder. How can I tell the patch where bf2 is installed at?
Yep. Also when i start 2142 it has the red "2" from BF2 XD
