hey guys im trying to get into my router settings but i cant get in, ive tried typing into IE http://192.168.2.1/ but it dosent do anything just comes up page not available, any ideas??

I think that some routers have different ip addreses. for example mine is  192.168.2.1 but my friends is 192.168.0.1........

1) Start-> Run
2) cmd -> OK
3) ipconfig/all

You should find a default gateway listed in the output that will be the ip addy of your router.

This depends ^ if the router is using DHCP that'll work. Albeit if he's just setting the router up on the network he's going to have to directly connect to it physically; i.e hook Cat from the router into the PC. Then he'd set the PC's ethernet card properties such as; make up an ip, set the default gateway to the router's IP. Save the settings and then try to connect, don't forget when you make any type of changes to refresh the browser (exit and come back).
