A good site to find pretty much anything you need is

www.filehippo.com

In the middle of the page you'll see AntiVir Personal 7.00.00.47  This is what I use, I love it. Check out everything, you will find a lot of stuff worth having.

Eff that corporate jazz, I use AVG it's free and very powerful. I've had AVG since '00 I know for a fact many common virus detectors are obsolete to new viri's. Most good coders actually write code to hide themselves or disable the more common virus scans.

I dont use any AV. I have my router set to block most everything and so far, it has worked. Staying off bad sites helps alot too.

I have had them all.

Pc Cillin is the best out there IMO.  Been using it for the last year with one virus / trojan.

AVG, Spybot, Ad-Aware

And if you want a firewall, go with Zone Alarm - also free.

Etrust. Only uses 6% of your CPU. Better than McAfee which uses 30%, and Norton hogs up 50%.

I get a one year subscrition to Etrust with my new computer, but after that, I dunno how to get it again, cuz I don't know any store who sells it.

Spybot and Ad-aware is good too.

Are you running a 386? Norton's using 0% of my slow-ass CPU right now. During BF2 it uses about 1%.

Agree with frank on this....but there is a built in firewall in most routers that can be configured to the extent that the free zone alarm works
