Demo Crash

I had the demo a few weeks ago then my graphics card died, so I got new one (7800 GS) and got the demo again to see how it runs. The loads up fine but when I try to change the resolution or the anti-aliasing the screen goes black and game becomes unresponsive although the music still playing in the background! Can anyone help please I really wanna try the demo before I consider buying the full game.

Your description sounds familiar, I believe to have stumbled over something like that there.

Couldnt see anything at ea support. I tried reinstall but it still doing it when I change anti-aliasing it says game will need to be restarted I click ok and then black screen but only in part of screen desktop is visible when I change the resolution full black screen. When I reload the game neither of options have changed but some of the other graphics options I have changed have.

Don't change your game-resolution in game, try using the command switch parameter. Right click on the 2142-shortcut on your desktop, select properties and find the field where the program location is specified:

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Change it to:

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

Note that the part before \BF2142.exe must match your actual install location. Feel free to modify the numeric values behind szx and szy to match your requirements.

It working now deleted my profiles folder and restarted and it working now thanks for the help though.
