Sounds like a PB problem, do they have a support section?

Never heard of it.  Gl!

Not had that myself, but here's what I'd try:

1. Completely reinstall BF2.
2. If that fails, completely reinstall windows and BF2.
3. If that fails, cry.

Okay, the ACCOUNT you are playing BF2 on (not your EA account) but your ACCOUNT for your SYSTEM...you know when you log onto WINDOWS and you choose your account, the account your playing on is a LIMITED ACCOUNT, you have to play on the system where the account has ADMINISTRATOR privilages

so whoever owns the computer you have to ask them to make your Windows XP Account a System Admin in the CONTROL PANEL>USERS section

til then you will enter a map and immediately get kicked for having inadequate O/S (operating system) privilages

so there's your answer, become system admin or use the account that has system admin rights

AND NO, DONT UNINSTALL/REINSTALL BF2, YOUR JUST WASTING TIME HAHA, NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PATCH, IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME, OR IF ANYONE ELSE DOESNT, SWITCH YOUR XP ACCOUNT TO "LIMITED" AND TRY TO JOIN A SERVER, YOU WILL, ALL GOES GOOD AT FIRST, THEN WHEN YOUR SPAWN SCREEN COMES UP, YOU WILL BE KICKED FOR INADEQUATE O/S PRIV.

LMAO, GOD I JUST SAW THE TIP TO REINSTALL WINDOWS!!!!! ROFLMFAO    do not I REPEAT DO NOT DO THIS HAHAHAHA, NOT TO TEASE THE OTHER GUY BUT THIS WILL WASTE YOUR TIME AND PATIENCE, WHEN ALL IT TAKES IS A SIMPLE ACCOUNT SETTING IN THE CONTROL PANEL

As I said, it's not a problem I'd seen before (yep, my windows account has admin privs) and it was just a suggestion.

Everything you said about getting your privs reset to admin makes total sense.

So, OP, don't do as I say, do as he says - if it still doesn't work, then you could try doing as I say... It might help - doing full reinstalls is one of those - "it's drastic but it'll usually solve most issues" type solutions to most (not all) issues...

I keep getting kicked by PunkBuster for "Blocked O/S Privileges"?

Please temporarily disable other security type programs you have running such as anti-virus, process guard, SDProtector, etc. to find out which of them is blocking PB's access to resources on your computer. You either need to run PB without the blocking program(s) or play on non-PB servers. Also make sure you run the game under an Administrator or equivalent account under Windows. If you do have access an admin account, you can right click on the application you want to run and select "Run As". This will allow you to give admin access to that program and should allow you to play with a limited user.
