well i had a nice commander....he drove the Tank from the spawnpoint to me(150 meters away) and jumped out and say that i should take it..coz he had something better to do lol! so that seems to me being an Commander Tank Delivery

one thing that annoys me the most in BF2 is bad commanders.

i hate it when your commander is driving round in a tank/AV either trying to kill people, then i ask for a supply drop and dont get it cause he isnt doing his job. or the commander is in the tank but just sits and doesnt do anything. that tank could be used for something else rather than a fance place for the commander to sit!

I was on a server a few days ago where the clanmembers who owned it were attempting to get their commanding time/points up for badges/ribbons/etc.

They would hop in an APC as commander, rape a base and wait for the respawners to get some more points, back out drop some hasty arty/supplies/uav, and repeat.

Each one got upwards of 100pts per round on a 32 player 200 ticket server.

It wasn't so bad, but I however would prefer a commander not to use up a vehicle in that manner.

When they had recieved their medals they stopped applying for commander and I was able to play as commander (they were all higher rank than I). I started to play as only commander.

I noticed there was an unused APC at our base and I notified them of it (they were all spawning at further out bases) and they told me to take it and use it myself. I said that I was commander and prefered not to drive an APC while commanding, they thought that was the funniest thing that they had ever heard.

Having a half commander/half APC isn't nearly as good as having a fulltime comander and a fulltime APC driver. You may gain more points the first way, but the latter is much more progressive for your team.

Uhm...what are you talking about? You can't gain any more points by using any sort of vehicle as commander unless points are also known to you as "statistical filler" (actions done to maintain certain number levels). Anyways, what was this clan called?
