i am just interested to see how many people will go with widescreen as opposed to the normal.

Please tell me your thoughts and reasoning why you picked what you did. thanks.

Wide screen because most new games, accept BF2142, support wide screen resolutions and also because I don't have to buy two monitors to display a high resolution like 2560x1600.

If more developers started supporting widescreen , id be happy.  I already have a widescreen and it does screw up some games.

Well, Call of Duty 2 was programmed to accommodate widescreen.

Besides, you can display two windows effectively with a widescreen monitor.

EDIT:  I currently use a BenQ FP202W 20" widescreen, and am perfectly happy with it.

Wide screen rocks, simply because of the shape of our eyes, using 4:3 you just waste your ability to see a lot more. Most new games will accomodate these 16:9 settings and resolutions. I was told with the average distance to your screen the best possible gaing experience would be achieved by using a 24" widescreen. Well i dont have the money to run to the store, but i'd love to have one.

Youd hardly notice the difference, especially when you realise how damn lush playing on a big screen is

really theres almost nothing in it, even with a non-widescreen game like bf2

seeing as i just got 2 widescreen (17 inch and 15.4 inch) notebooks, i put down wide screen. but my next desktop monitor will probs be a normal one again.

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I recently got a new monitor, and I went widescreen. No problems here and no "skew" in BF2 etc.

Support in games is slow to come, but more developers are starting to see the light. The rationale of saying WS gives an unfair advantage just isn't going to cut it for much longer.
