As has been said, nobody plays Engineer, and not many people have the unlocks. 2 motion mines or 3 Pilum shots to the leg; or 2 to the ass; or 1 in the vents will kill a walker (and most people like to stand still in them
the pilum is definetely worth the unlock, but it takes a degree of skill to use. i've missed quite a few times because i was counting on drop that wasn't there and/or vehicles moving out of the way at the very end of the trajectory. other than that, it is highly effective.

im loving the attempt to show off and bring a topic as well. im just gonna watch this thread go to shits.
As far as the Walkers, naw, an organized squad can take em out easy enough. Nice round.
Yeah Walkers can be awesome and I really hate it when i see low-ranking people just walk them right into a mess they cant possibly get out off.
The only thing that can beat a good driver/gunner is overwhelming numbers. One AT guy isn't gonna do much on his own unless he manages to hit the vent underneath, its only when the enemy is dedicated to taking you out (and has engi unlocks) that you need to be cautious.

i dunno if there overpowered. i think they are way to powerful when you see them on the tight city maps destroying squads of men paired up with a apc sending in those bombs to take out anyone who gets away. on larger open maps the vechiles all seem to be pretty evened out, the choppers can fly shooting at the walkers, tanks can shoot at them from a range, even the infantry have a chance because there are plenty of places to hide. so to be honest it really just depends on the map and who you have on a team.

That's because NO ONE is engineer on those maps. Engineers main gun is shitty, you can only take out 2 or max 3 if the third one has low hp, so they rather go for a kit that's good against infantry.Godhatch wrote:

The walkers are fun, people just need to stop taking this game so seriously.
I have a bigger E-PENIS though
The unlock Im currently working towards is the Pilum cause you can snipe with the pilum besides having the ability to take out vehicles. I sniped three people with it on Cerbere Landing, then destroyed a walker with it, after using someones kit I was like, heh, this is cool....
the walkers are very easy to take out...as long as people use their brains and work together....wait people dont work together in this game what am i talking about your all fucked then
1.)Mechs are not too strong.Masterstyle wrote:
Are the battlewalkers too strong or is it just me?
2.)you were playing against n00bs
If I get taken down by a mech, I feel that it is necessary to be a cheap bitch and launch a transport at it as I glide away safely in my pod.
I personally stay out of the mechs because they always seem to attract the most AT/jihaders/ground defense fire.
Edit: I guess I should add that I only play in 48 player titan maps, so I guess it could be an issue for those of you that play less than 32 player maps.

I dont find the walkers too strong. I only have the demo but in the games I play, walkers get owned pretty quickly (by AT, doragons and talons, etc.)
In bf2142 vehicles are not that strong.

well ive come to this so far
ok you're in a tank driving along the road and suddenly a walker steps out but you have surprise on your side hes not facing you! so you shoot him in the back, woo victory... but wait! you shoot again as he turns around but his shield is up and its deflected, damn. he starts shooting rockets at you so you hit your shields, yeah hes screwed now! you shoot him two more times, oh shit his rockets are reloaded but your shield being the pos that it is, isnt even half done! ok so you try to get away, yeah because vehicles that can drive can outrun vehicles that walk! well not enough to matter, he continues firing rockets at you and the few that do hit rip you to shreds and you're now dead, congrats!
having something that can shoot down aircraft, rape armor, and obliterate infantry is a good idea on paper... not so much implemented in a game where in the average server you'll have engineers only in the damn things and probably using ventrillo or teamspeak to coordinate
true a well coordinated squad can kill ONE walker pretty easily, but what happens if theres 2? or worse two with a tank.

Then you deliver them a gift, in the form of an unmanned air transport launched in their direction.krazed wrote:

Not even that. You just have to use this thing most of us have called brains.Volatile_Squirrel wrote:

1)Have a recon swing around to the rear with the It-33 and c4 a tank, and a walker if he can. Everyone else focuses on the mechs
2) Engineer comes from the rear, Pilums the tank in the back. Shoots the mechs in the weak spots (or possibly even the skywalker vents) to help the people infront take them out.
3)Get a gunship and hope the walkers don't have anyways in the aa turrets ;D
4)Jihading is your friend.
And if you're fighting a mech in a tank, stay mobile and keep your distance. They can't touch you. Oh and use you're shields at the right moment.
I see you get 1pt per kill now, fags.
