Yup, I'm a jet whore. I've been flying a lot lately and it's bringing me back to my old Battlefield 1942 days playing nothing but Coral Sea. I find it extremely easy to fly using those left over skills. I think this might be my shining achievement so far:

Shooting down a full blackhawk with just the main gun.

Okay, so maybe I haven't become everything I've ever hated, because that's awesome

P.S. I don't use a joystick (or hacks).

I love jets myself; I had a 104-point round just using the SU-34 on Oman not too long ago. No joystick for me, either.

As for the "becoming what you hate", I've only recently discovered that I'm much more of a vehicle whore than I'd like to believe. However, I'm currently working on my small-arms K/D ratios. I'll be much happier if and when I have a positive ratio for carbines.

I haven't flown in a while since I've been playing SF... surprisingly my K/D ratio hasn't gone down much at all. BTW, if you think you're good with a mouse/keyboard, you'll do 10x better with a joystick. Get one.

Joysticks have too many useless buttons that I don't need on them.

joysticks are really only an advantage when it comes to aerial combat, like jet to jet or helo to helo or jet to helo. for ground attack mouse and joystick are about equal, each has its advantages.

i fly with mouse as well, it's pretty hard to out-dogfight a joystick pilot. so a lot of times i'm limited to ground attack, which is certainly still helpful to the team.

well, i suck at flying but i got into this server where everybody suck at flying, and went i got into the f-15 that was the end of the other team.
today i played as a "gunner" in a F-15 i got like 40 kill driver assis and i killed like 26 with the guided missiles, that pilot was very good we didn't die at all.
yup i played as a leech

Flying rox. I fly with out a joystick, i need to get one soon. my K/D for jets are almost 8:1. Dogfighting is alot harder with out a joystick though, but i don't really care.

I shoot down about 4-5 jets a round while bombing about 25 targets on the ground (average) and i use mouse+keyboard, just put ur mouse sensitivity on 4 and you can dogfight with ease.

well, lately when i play wake i use the plane more often then before...coz i seem to do well in those things....(when i started BF2 i couldnt fly shit not talking about resupply my ammo...90 % resulted that i smacked myself to the ground) that was because of the keyboard and mouse...i had to get use to it . i played a lot of Combat Flight Simulators (CFS 1, CFS2 , CFS3 . IL2-Sturmovik loved IL2 it kinda rocked especialy when ur planes is so much fucked up with an Oil leak, Holes everywhere, a bad sounding engin and still flying and shooting around ofcourse u knew 1 full hit more and ur gone) i played these games on my old Pentium 4 , one of the first P4's 1,7 GHZ , 128 DRD ram , Geforce 2 MX400 64 mb. and i have a nice joystick

logitech Wingman (year 90's) looked pretty modern not those cheap crap kinda joysticks. round shaped wait a sec i search for a pic..

well it was a great Joystick and simple 2 buttons and 3 scrollers all u need for BF2 (1st(front) button for primary weapon , 2nd (upper see pic) button for Secondary weapons. Scrolls : 1 scroll to Accelerate and the 2 others where to configure ur joystick) but on my new PC i discovered that i didnt have a port to connect my Joystick into...wtf! so since then i play with mouse and keyboard and its going pretty well. i,m not a full time Plane whore if i,m in a plane i will not come out untill i have been taken down and sometimes that means 1 full round kills and no deaths

i have serious problems in jets and helicopters. not really tried to fly much as i know i am just wasting a good team asset. but when i do get in one i usually crash or get shot down pretty quickly!!

so need some good pointers!
