joysticks are not really necesary to be good. it depend on YOU u need to practice..if ur used to a joystick or mouse with keyboard...

i,m used to my Keyboard and mouse as with an joystick.

so what did i do:

*first i changed the mouse speed of the JET configuration make it faster i have it between 3 - 4 just set is as you like it
*Go Single player (take Operation cleansweep)  or join an empty server
*practice moves Loops, Flips, sharp turns, etc etc
* bombing is more about calculation on ur vision: speed, altitude and angle. just practice that on an not moving vehicule u can spot.
*and if ur pretty confident try it online with other players its going to take some time but after that ur going to enjoy being a pilot

about dogfights ..... its always important to have ur enemy in front of u ...if hes on ur tail...ur fucked or u must shake him of and get behind him. and do not use rockets when he moving up down, left right with sharp turns coz the rockets just miss...always shoot him if he makes an mistake by moving to long straight on and if ur long on his tail...it just takes time to make him doing an mistake...and if hes moving to much just shoot with ur main gun to get him at least damaged and if ur lucky u kill him with that

Wait. I've just remembered that I have a joystick somewhere. Exactly like the one in the picture. I'm going to dig it out and give it a go. Ten times better than keyboard/mouse. I need that ratio!

I used keyboard and mouse for helicopters and a joystick for jets. Mouse is easier for the small adjustments needed for hovering, and joystick is better for high G turns when dog fighting.

I dont really fly jets much as most jet pilots can cause a lot more damage than I can. However if there is a jet available, I will step in.
