Still cant get the bloody BASIC..........
driving me up the wall.....
i usually play 1 round normally then the next going for the bloody thing alternately so as not too frazzle my nerves and temper too much (LOL, i know its just a game)
just cant seem to get it...
always come to within a kill or two of 13 but NEVER 13.....
damn i suck.
i dont jihad jeep btw.

not asking for tips, have read all of them. just a general rant .
just take a moment to read what i typed below, just shows my ineptitude at getting this particular badge.
have moaned about this many times before but got really pissed off with myself last night.

had 10 C4 kills (yes i count as i get them)when i spy 3, count em 1,2,3 snipers AND a medic in an ally sniping away (sharqi inbetween tv station and allyway flag (i think thats whats its called).
without thinking i sneak up upon them from behind them and guess what i do? i grease them with my g36c!
i was like that was bloody brilliant! then........... it hit me.
i could have just $#^#^% thrown a C4 pack(s), run round the corner and voila! Explosives badge! gawdammit! i disconnected and went out for a smoke to prevent myself from punching the PC.
talk about dumb huh?
ah well spent rest of the time playing support as i kind of self punishment for being a dumbass....

heheh kinda funny now that i have read what i typed.

wicked tthf the dumbass.........lol

EDIT: I finally got it! the basic last week and the vet last night! screw c4....... claymores are the way to go!

Oh yeah. I feel the pain man. oooh, I feel it bad. Trying for my vet - 23 kills with explosives really stings. Hats off to them guys who got their expert (without padding).

Got my first kill last week using the throw C4 / instant explode tip.

By any chance you ever think of trying it with claymores? I would think claymores on the common routes on Karkand would get 13 kills fairly quickly, especially if you lure people into them (omg sniper! easy kill!), especially with how often people love to charge across the street from the archway at hotel into the alleys.

Don't put it on a spawn though because I don't think claymores that detonate to a new spawn actually will kill. I tried spawning on one of my own and it didn't do any damage, just went off and concussed me.

Look for support kits on the ground too so you can throw 4 bags of ammo, change back to sniper, and get more claymores a-goin

Oh, yeah, I feel the punish pain as well. Goes something like:

I Lay claymores
30 seconds later "you were punished for a teamkill"
I say WTF and type "Why did you run over my claymore".
No answer.
Switch from sniper to engineer.
Lay mine in front of enemy base entrance almost at top of a hill so anyone exiting the base will not see it, but anyone driving up the hill will easily see it.
30 seconds later "you were punished for a teamkill"
I say WTF and type "why did you run over the mine that was in plain view?"
A reply comes back "You shouldnt have put it where I was driving you noob"
I say WTF
I switch from engineer to Special Ops.
As I place C4 on a tank, the driver gets out so I get in and drive off laughing
Seconds later some muppet runs out in front of my extremely noisy and heavy tank and gets squished
The game says "You were kicked from the server for excessive team kills"
I say WTF, switch the computer of and get a beer

Hey, just saw, you've got the knife badge, so I can give u my taktic for explosives (basic and veteran, but wont work for expert ):

Ok, get into a crowded Karkand map, take MEC and spawn as Sniper. Then u can plant claymores down the hill (where US spawn) and if they took the first points, you should walk around, seeking single enemys and get near them. Simply lay a Claymore then, shoot near the guy (not at him) and then sprint around the next corner, as fast as possible. Usually those guys will follow u and here goes the claymore!
Or seek lying persons (enemy of corse) sneak behind them and lay a Clay! He wont like u for that!!!

Worked pretty fine for me! Got my veteran at half the time played (points)!!!! U're KD ratio wont be too good (OK, I got a 1,8!!!) and probably some TKs but thats all!

Greetingz,
Earthquake

P.S. Cu with ure explosives badges

Just use spec ops and bunny hop around while throwing c4s. I am sure 13kills aint that hard

Tbh its not that hard, first time I tried I got about 47 points overall in a round using C4 for all my kills but 2

Got loads of kill damage assists too

does killing yourself with C4 count as kills?

That's kinda' a given, mcminty. The answer is no, they count as suicides (a subtraction of 2 points).

My tip for getting C4 is to go on a 64-player size Strike at Karkand with 50 players and throw yourself around like a ho. The first morning I learned how to throw that damn C4 (yesterday), I went into a server like this and got my Expert Explosives Ordinance Badge in a jiffy. More than 5 dozen guys running around is definitely overly chaotic, and most of the time you die for complete bullshit and never get a good chance at throwing your shit around like the monkey you'll need to be.

Don't be so damn pessimistic m8.

The claymores option will work IF you play as MEC on a packed 64 player Karkand server. Just dump them over the 1st fence the US approach as they come down the slope. Why? Cos your team8s are likely to be killed by the US if they go beyond that point so teamkills are less likely. Plus the US tend to mass on the other side of the fence so taking out a squad with one claymore is always on the cards.

The timing matters too, with the beginning of the round being crucial in racking up as many kills before they possibly break through and things get messy as the US scatter throughout the map. It doesn't matter if you die while dropping a claymore.

As long as you've set your 2 claymores in spaced out positions (so that they don't both go off at the same time) where you are definitely going to claim the enemy's lives then your personal sacrifice will be worth it. The damage is already done and it's usually 2/3 kills to your one death.

However it's not worth going for the expert explosives ordinance badge with claymores cos I've tried it and the rounds just aren't long enough. Besides C4 is way more useful in the sense that you can take out a pesky tank/apc whereas a claymore will only cause a graze. You also get more C4 packs than claymores so again the C4 trumps the claymore.

As for AT mines they're probably the worst option to chose when going for your Explosives badge. The reasons why are pretty obvious so I'm not going to bother mentioning them. It should take JUST one round to get your Basic badge cos I managed to get about 20 kills with claymores when, during my 1st attempt with claymores, I decided to have some fun and make a nuisance of myself - and I wos just testing out the idea to see if I could get the Expert badge.

And the idea didn't work for the Expert cos the chance of teamkilling increased as the round wore on and the US, desperate by then, had started thinning out and taking alternative routes. Anyways good luck with getting that badge.

well, lucky for me people, i already got all my veteran kit and knife, pistol, and EXPLOSIVES badges, its pretty easy, go as special ops, (dont EVER bother about sniper claymore and engineer AT mines) go on a full 64 24/7 karkand server (due to the fact that you get more chances if you fail the first time, you can just play again and again on a karkand server till you get it right). I would recommend being US (because they rush down a hill, so you have a slight view of people, and run up to the fence where the boxes are on the other side, throw a C4 across, explode it, repeat, the once youve cleared that area out, run into alleyways and lay c4 down (because people mass up and spawn there, plus if you kill 1 medics start to come as well, giving you the advantage of killing a few more people) try these tips once in a while, there is always a way to kill people with c4and ALWAYS, when using c4 and trying to kill mass amounts of people, play on Karkand
1. because its tight and compact, everyone crowds up in 1 area or another
2. no matter what size it is, nearly everyone will spawn in the front spawns
3. if all else fails, go JIHAD style and chuck all you c4 onto a humvee and do a suicide mission and hope for the best....

GOOD LUCK

note: the post about using claymores over the fence is good as well, try that too!

this is how i got it.
veteran:
- get calm and concentrate on your goal
- keep calm if things are not goiing as you hoped
- run around in a full 64 player karkand with only C4 (as MEC)
- set traps behind the fence where all the US troops go through you will get a lot of kills there
- if you are getting upset stop immidiately you are not going to get it if you are not focussed
- sacrifice yourself for the kill
- claymores only get you teamkills
- when you fail get calm again and then try again when you feel you are ready
- throw C4 at every enemy you see
- luck is a big thing but try in the weekend or in holidays when worse players are online

getting explosive badges is like the way of the ninja

I managed to get the vet c4 badge the other day. I went on a karkand 32 player server, 64 map size for the ticket count, as MEC and spawned at the hotel.  Ran to the T in the road across from the fenced in area and waited until I saw 1 or 2 us make it though to the alley way.  I would then sprint over and toss a C4 in the alley way and keep running and blow it.  Most I got in 1 toss was 4, but would atleast get 1 every time.  Now I did die a few times from more us coming in behind me while I sprinted, but worked well to get the 23 kills.

As far as claymores go, I've been pretty close a few times on Sharqi Peninsula without even trying - I guard the TV station as a sniper, and lay claymores in the stairs leading up to the flag. I get a team mate to spawn as a supply guy and spam a few supply packs around, and then I just wait. You're certain to get a significant number of claymore kills that way, and if you're really trying, you probably could get the badge that way.

Although I think the Karkand option is a better one, I just wanted to advance a suggestion that didn't start with "Ok, join a Karkand server ..."

The other option that's been mentioned before is to strap C4 to a quad bike (ATV) and scoot around the warlord map looking for enemy cars and armour to smash into.

I need to get my vet soon. Any ideas besides C4 tossing? I CANNOT do it.
