Just reinstalled windows on my laptop. I installed bf2 off my original discs. I ran it once before I did the 1.4 patch. Wouldn't open at first, but when I added the commands to force widescreen in the shortcut it loaded fine.

I just tried running after the 1.4 patch, and right after the splash screen comes up the screen goes black and immediately goes back to the desktop. I tried with & without using the force resolution commands.

Any ideas?

I also tried editing the default settings in the Video file in my documents...right after the splash screen it flickers black like its gonna load the drops me right back to desktop =O

btw....bf2 ran fine on the laptop b4 i formatted...when i setup bf2 on the laptop b4 the format i installed from the discs...installed 1.4, and never had a problem...im using the same video drivers this time around also

Specs:
Dell - Inspiron
1.86 Core 2 Duo
1gb DDR2 Ram
x1400 256mb RAM video card
