When I get pissed and play BF2 I always get distracted easily.

I always think I can hear the Ice Cream van outside and go running out onto the street wearing nothing but my dressing gown and a stiffy. Then I realise it's 3am and the ringing I heard was some n00blet team flashing.

I tend to do a lot of my TKing under the influence of alcohol. If it moves, shoot it. If it gets back up, shoot it again. If he's on my team, aplogise.

Then shoot him again.

The biggest question you gotta ask is not what graphics card, but what monitor are you going to watch it all on?  You will need minimum 20" TFT with a damn good response time (2ms) to be able to see any benefit of most crossfire and SLi configurations, including the 7950.  A 19" Monitor can only show resolutions up to 1280x1024 and any performance gain from a kick arse GPU setup are going to be lost.

It's like watching a DVD on your cellphone.

Fantastic monitor, now that would be worth it, must confess to liking the apple slightly better, but I am sure you will be loving it on that screen .

^^maybe he was asking if there were any DX10 games released. In any sense you will need vista in order to run them and that hasnt been "officially" released.

my next card will be the 8800. I just need to think if I want to spend the money. My BFG 7900 GTX is starting to show its age.

Four cores or quad sli? I can't imagine the power needed to run 4 of them..lol
As far as the four core cpu's. There aren't any games that even utilize 2 cores out yet..lol

its a stupid question anyway..... of course the 8800 wins, if I had the money id buy one too yeah right

but in the real world these first 8800s are hot and clunky, im waiting till the die shrink, cooler, quieter potentially and draw less power and they might have sorted the size of boards out by then.

You have just shown its not a stupid question........by giving a reason not to buy one....!! oh and if you had not noticed...this is the real world!

hehe, yeah I have my real world reason but I still ticked yes to the 8800 in your poll because I would definately buy one if I lived in your 'if you had the cash' world

but I dont, got rent to pay, bills, christmas etc, Ill get one next year after the shrink and when the price settles down. (and its not like im o noes my 2x7800GTs are so under powered just yet lol)
