I like the idea of the post but come on guys I think the whole point of what he is trying to get at is that let the newbies have a go at the helo. If he crashes oh well. If he gets blown up in a tank then what. Isn't that he point of the game is to kill the other tank and if he gets blown up oh well his lost and then the tank will respawn. That is how I learned the tank and the Helo. I played and watched the others. Give the new guys a chance to give the skills a go. Hey you never know they might be better then you or I with the Vehicle/Helo/Jet.

Cry me a fuckin river. You're getting killed because you're probably running around in the open with no clue of what you're doing...of course we're going to kill you over and over. Yeah, the base rapers are bastards, but deal with it...you can still use different tactics of getting out of the way before they get you. If you want to be good at the game and you take it half way serious, then use your continual ass kickings as a learning opportunity to get better. JesusDRB_Black wrote:

Many of you have had this game from day one and have played many hours to get where you are. I respect your abilities and your knowledge. However, after reading many of these threads, I am beginning to see a pattern. You constantly bitch about the "NOOBS, this whore or that whore, or how some guy that really sucks takes your precious JET, HELO, TANK, etc. After all, how dare they, after spending $40.00 to $50.00 for this game; expect to join a server, and use the available assets on the map.
You talk about team play which at least 75% of you don't do. You talk about how you despise stat padders, which most of you do by hunting down those with less experience. You can do this because you have played these maps so long, you know all the spawn points and good hiding places, and the best place to lay in ambush for the unsuspecting. I don't fault you this, after all you want the points, awards, and bragging rights.
The problem is that new guys get their ass handed to them while you guys improve your K/Ds. The new guys get discouraged and pissed off because their stats suck. I know that all of you guys are not like that, but enough of you are.
So for all you NOOB haters and purists, why don't you guys get your own servers and allow no one under the rank of Gunny? Maybe then the rest of us guys that suck could actually play a game and make some kills with out spending the majority of the time spawning in, and without having some 10,000 kill high ranker waiting for us to appear so he can kill us again.
Just a thought.
I find that the people with low amounts of points sometimes do stupid things, but it's the people who have 20,000+ points who do stupid things all the time...like spawncamping or vehicle whoring...the idiots who TK are mostly...people with higher points. Hmm...seems like a trend...
But seriously, it all depends on the person, not on how many points he has.

Please, this is a war game. One would have to be a total moron to run around in the open. I have more than a clue as to what I'm doing. I was training REAL MARINES in the art of combat before the best part of you ran down your mothers leg. This game defies reality to say the least. a good 60% of my deaths are due to arty, helos and jets. You dont need tactics with arty and bombs. Many are due to trying to revive a guy in the middle of a shit storm. (I don't do that any more) or pesistantly attacking an objective. The rest are because I suck, but I'm learning and improving. There have been many good tips and constructive critcisms posted in this thread. Yours was not one of them.R3belacT/ wrote:

Anyway imo artly shouldn't count as global death number.
That happened to me on the Wake Island map. Playing sniper on the US arty Island, only me, here comes the arty. I felt honored, a whole strike for one guy. At least it kept it off of the rest of the squad while they took the airfield. HE HE.
i have been playing bf2 for awhile and even when i first started witch was like a mounth after the game came out i didnt play single player and i never have i was kicking ass im still trying to get a good kd of 2 and a win lose of 3 but i dont put down the noobs i try to help them out yes the bunny hopping and tubeing gets out so i just hop when the shot then i waste them its easy spawn killing i just change spawn and kill them. and if u think about it u r not a vehical whore if u have pnly been in that vehical once the whole game i have been called a jet whore and i didnt die in the jet the whole round 131 to 0 what do they want me to do just crash or hop out it aint my falut i i keep taking ever one out with out dieing. but the noobs r cool there fun to watch. and little story out of no were i was wating for my mom to get a lotto ticket and a big fat dude walks up to the exit door at a little store has big red sgin DO NOT ENTER and he waits like 30 seconds for door to open slowly backs up and trys again then looks to the left at the other door slowly walks up to it and it opens then he said to him self i dont get it. i was holding back from cracking up sooooo bad u had to see it

I'm not a great player by any means, I don't consider myself elite, veteran, and I firmly believe in the whole "No matter how hard you practice, someone out there is better than you are, and when you meet him on the field, he will beat you." thing. I do believe that the new players deserve a chance to hone their skills.
BUT! For flying and manuvering tanks, APC's, and the humvee/jeep challenged, I think that practicing in a local server is the way to go. Get some legs before you try to run with the pack eh?
I won't lower myself to calling people noobs, newbies, or any of the other names I see typed in frustration and anger. I'll laugh my ass off a couple o times when my pilot inverts the plane/chopper into the side of the only tree in an open field before I simply stop flying with them. But there is no need to TK, curse, and "flame" new players. They are where you once were.
On the flip side of the coin, beginner players should sharpen their skills at their own risk on ranked servers! These servers are for registered scores. All levels of competition are to be found there, from tic-tac-toe to global thermonuclear war.... Expect to be terminated with extreme predjudice. (and from time to time expect that you will be told off by the overly irate player who doesn't want to mar his/her record with the blemish of your blunder)
P.S. If I've ever artied any of you lonewolf snipers out there, it was because my team had more tickets, more flags, and nothing better to do than to zoom x3 on you and watch your corpse reach for the stratosphere.

I didn't post this to make you feel better about yourself. Stop whining and just play. Or don't. You say you were training real marines and you're on here whining about getting your ass beat on a video game? Hmmm...interesting. And yeah, this game does defy reality...it's a fucking video game!! It's supposed to be an escape from reality. And since this game does defy the reality you speak of, then you should be able to watch for the helo and the airplane kills, stop bunching up in the same place so some commander can rain arty down on you over and over, etc. Learn how to play...seems like all you want to do is cry about it. I didn't know a marine trainer would let a video game get the best of him. God help those marines you supposedly trained.DRB_Black wrote:

Yawn.
Alpha as fuck.
OK, I think it is time to kill this post completely.
Dude, no disrespect but I think you should pay less attention to others and spend less time whining on the forums. Instead you should try to sharpen your skills online. One more thing. If you get spawn-killed respawn at other spawn points comeback and kill him. Don't spend half your game spawning at the same place where you know you will get killed again. I had this game for a month and a half and I am 2000 points away from first sergeant. I had to deal with this also but I did not bitch online. I went and trained by killing higher ups. You should do the same.
Peace.
Peace.

New players follow and support better players and they will learn the game. It frustrates me when they run off and get owned, leaving the team with 15 less tickets or so.
When i started ghost recon/bhd/bf I always followed the better players until i got good at the games.

Maybe we are just expecting them to learn how to fly (armor is easy enough to use - surviving is a talent) the same way most of us did. I personally practiced for a few hours with the attack helo on various maps (Kubra and Cleansweep mostly). I tried all of the basic "stunt" maneuvers - flying under bridges, through tunnels, etc - and also worked on my hovering ability (both to maintain a hover, as well as controlled entry and exit from a hover - plus strafing). Then I played a little bit with the AI in single player to practice basic pilot aiming, and then went into the game. The only thing about helo flying I didn't and couldn't practice was setting up TV missle shots for a gunner.PFCStenzel wrote:

With that said, it is not hypocritical of me to expect new players to practice before they demand the helo.
Here is an idea:
How about a beginners only server ?
Somone ought to set up a server for people who EITHER have:
- Below 2000 pts
- SPM below 1
- K/D Below 1
That way n00bs would get in under the 2000 pts rule and anyone who just plain sucks could get in under the other two.
It would be a great place for beginners to learn some skills without getting mullered and they could build up a decent rank before going out into the big bad world.
If it were up to me I would call it:
<drum roll>
Octavarium's .::n00b - college::.!!!
lol, anyone else agree?

I'm pretty sure that if I spent over 5 hours a day every day on BF2 like you I would be pretty good at it. But unfortunately I have to work and earn a living so I don't have the time. Clearly you don't have anything better to do.
Besides how can you tell I'm a noob - you havent seen my stats,

FYI I wouldn't qualify for my idea anyway
