the annoying thing is when u shoot a solo chopper you only get 1 kill
If the other noobs on your team aren't even capable of shooting the damn missle within 100 metres of the target than you have the right to solo chopper, or when your the only one at the chopper, but keep in mind don't be a such a fuck that will spam ''Bail out'' !!! like 5 million times and then kill you with that boundary shit, other than that I am cool with solo choppering, its actually sometimes more effective against armor, and choppers then being with 2 guys..

Well, don't play on the 702 recon server then. They kick and ban for soloing. Aparently they consider it an exploit even though missles now lock on to them and they eventually fall from the sky. Some people are just dumb.
Nobody has a right to bitch about soloing or kick/ban for it period. It's against ROE, but more importantly, common sense.

Show me the change log that says the AA/Stinger/IGLA missiles still lock on to the chopper when the pilot seat is empty.Ajax_the_Great1 wrote:

The US economy is a giant Ponzi scheme. And 'to big to fail' is code speak for 'niahnahniahniahnah 99 percenters'
Doesn't really bother me, but I really like being in the gunner seat and I'm pretty good with the TV, but haven't had much time in a heli' as either I get shot out to make rooms for the pilots "mate" or I get a crappy pilot, or one that flies off without a gunner even when the person asks to be the gunner.

OK since you solo pilots seem to be speechless
here is the change log from 1.12 onwards so you don't have to search for it yourselves
PLEASE show where the AA missiles still lock on to pilotless attack choppers aka solo tv missileers

Hard Drive Space
Windows will require additional free hard drive space for its operating system (virtual memory). If you encounter the following message in an error dialog: "Ran out of virtual memory", free up some more hard drive space.
To install Battlefield 2 Version 1.2 you will need approximately 2.0 GB free hard disk space for the full patch or 1.5GB for the incremental patch, plus space for saved games.
If you have Battlefield 2 installed to a different hard disk than where you have Windows installed then approximately 375Mb (full patch) or 100Mb (incremental patch) of the required free space must be available on the hard disk where Windows is installed.
To install Battlefield 2: Euro Force you will need approximately 800Mb free hard
disk space plus space for saved games.
BATTLEFIELD 2: SPECIAL FORCES AND THE PATCH
It is very important to remember that the Special Forces executable is an earlier version of the game. If you have purchased Battlefield 2: Special Forces after you have installed the patch, you will need to reinstall patch 1.2 after installing Special Forces.

KNOWN ISSUE
ATI Crossfire cards: CROSSFIRE cards with 256 Megs of memory, running in CROSSFIRE mode will run out of memory at very high resolution settings. On very high resolutions, such as 1920x1440 with 6x antialiasing. In CROSSFIRE mode the ATI drivers are more restrictive about where resources are allocated, and as a result run out of memory sooner than with a single board. This running out of memory causes the device context creation to fail. The result is that the game just sits in a loop with a black screen. If you experience a context creation failure change your resolution to a lower setting (e.g. 1024x768 or even lower).

GeForce FX 5950 Ultra
GeForce FX 5900ZT
GeForce PCX 5900
For these cards, the default video settings have been changed to LOW.
UPDATE TO GRAPPLING HOOK AND ZIP LINE DESCRIPTION
GRAPPLING HOOK
The GRAPPLING HOOK is part of the Assault and Anti-tank kits. Throw it using the fire or alternate fire buttons. Press "E" to get on and off of the rope. Use the direction keys to climb the rope. The rope will connect to any static object in the world, which means it will not work on terrain or vehicles. Any Assault or Anti-Tank kit can pick up any grappling hook, even those from other teams, as long as you do not already have one in your kit at the time.
ZIP LINE
The ZIP LINE is part of the Special Forces and Sniper kits. Use the fire button to shoot the line and use the alternate fire button to check if the target is a viable connection point or not. Once the line is in place, use "E" to get on. You will slide down the line automatically. Any Spec-Ops or Sniper kit can pick up any zip line, even those from the other team, as long as you do not already have one in your kit at the time.

I think its really gay, but only coz I can't fly the helo full time, let alone switch to and from seats....
If you can do it and get away with it, crack on.

I honestly don't care if that's what you do, as long as you're killing the enemy. The only thing I don't like about it is when people want to get in and you don't let them, or if they're in and you fly them off the map.

Solo choppering is the only answer if you don't have a good pilot...and even that isn´t good enough...
You gotta be talking with him all the time and he has to react fast like hell so that you can shoot at once ... Otherwise you end up as missile fodder to assholes like ']['error! (been there)
As a solo pilot you have the advantage to fire immediately when you see the enemy, and that ends up as a flawless victory... every fucking second is expensive here...
And best of all, if you are alone, you have no one to blame if you suck!!!!
Off course, if you want big points you need a good pilot, cause you don´t get even half of the targets when you are alone, you just have to satisfy with airplanes, choppers and vehicles, all the delicate infantry kills stays outside while you are alone...and that sucks...but is still better than being a easy target for the enemies with a crappy pilot!!!!

if i see an empty chopper with no one round it or wanting a ride then i take it an solo if they do want a ride i pick em up
I ask the team if someone wants to gun/fly, but usually nobody answers. I try to pick people up because I'm not that great at solo'ing, but if nobody wants to get in I'll do it. But if the servers full, pick someone up unless you're literally pwning enemy ass.
Exactly. This guy ranted at me for 30 minutes about it. Wallhack, aimbot, such bs. I'm sorry I have better instincts than you and I can outflank you. I'm sorry I climbed up on a crate and saw you laying there. I'm sorry that there is an issue with the game where body parts can stick through walls and take damage.']['error wrote:

Are there even any hacks for BF2 that punkbuster doesn't pick up?
1st option. The only thing that pisses me off is when people fly off when told 4 times "I need a ride!"
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
If there is no one around to gun for you, go for it, fly solo, have a blast. But if you are taking off with the chopper, and intentionally avoiding a gunner, or asking to jump out, I have a problem with that. If the heli spawns and you are the only one waiting on it, have fun.
But nothing pisses me off more than when I am running to gun for someone and they take off alone in the heli.

Persnally I Love It
Missles do lock onto you when you solo now. I was just playing solo and got hit by plenty. Trust me, it was fixed. I have over 200 something hours. I've been flying for a long time and I know when something changes. And if you really don't believe me, go into a server with a friend and see for yourself. I've adapted to hitting flares before switching now to accomodate for this.Stubbee wrote:

I think its gay and stupid, but since they allow it, you might as well learn that aspect of the game. But I wish it wasnt allowed because it just makes the game look retarded (look at me, I'm hopping from the pilot seat to gunners seat mid-flight! )
