me PC has been fugged for some time now, kept 'blue screening' every time you would log into windows...

well... i can get onto the PC now all fine and dandy as it were, the way we done it was removing the USB lead from the modem to the PC.

BUT.. everytime i plug it in it does the 'dum-dum' noise and then searches for the network....

...then BLUE SCREEN and a restart

it cant be the modem i wouldnt have thought as i can connect this laptop to it and use it as normal, so the problem is in the PC i would think.

any ideas ?

Your CPU reached maxed overclock or is dying slowly.

Your 'Tron' components are striking for more civil rights.

I got it!  I think your IRQL needs to be less or equal.  You're welcome..

Try this, if you have onboard video, switch over to that. If you don't, perhaps you can find a "loaner" video card from a buddy or something. Anyways, take out your old video card and try using a different one so that it loads different drivers, then reboot and put your old one back in. That should at least tell you if your card is bad. Sounds like it needs the drivers reset.
