I would like to counterargue:

Had the Dutch not colonized South Africa and bled the colony dry, the cutting edge tech South African combat helicopter would have been developed earlier.

Or would you care to elaborate why the Dutch influence was necessary to develop the Rooivalk? I hope you're not saying that a combat helicopter called 'Mubanga' is an impossibility...

I think we've butted heads on this subject before
What, if the dutch hadn't colonized SA. you would still be living in wooden huts on the plains, we brought technology your way, (and gave your people free rides across the ocean!)

Rooivalk. (Red Falcon) sound way cooler in dutch.

It has a dramatic touch to it.

OMFG! Osama! A Rooivalk!

Hehehe thats not an invention, just take the best thing on planet earth, and improve it, market it, and get extremely rich selling it. Thats trading and yes thats The Netherlands for ya, Trading.

Another rediculous invention in holland is BPM, an added tax for importing cars in the Netherlands making cars 30% more expensive here than in any other country where we got them. It was originally intended to support the Dutch car industry if i'm not mistaken, however now its just a scam.

Insurrance is also a dutch invention, if its not we are still the most insured country in the world.
