i have been very succsessfull with the assultrifles on 2142, i used them just like the G36E single shot crouching... and unless u have a good system make sure ur rame rates are high enough... open the console in bf2142 by pressing the tilde key and then type renderer.drawfps 1 that will show you the fram rates, i only get 35- 50 frames per second but i manage pretty well on my 4 year old system in medium settings will the advanced efects and lighting off . lol my old agp ATI 9800 PRO seems to hate anything which needs advanced effects and lighting lol.

Practise in solo u can use ur unlocks either in solo Learn flying is good in solo so u dont piss of other players @ online

Snipe less... Your reflexes are probubly shit now from sitting and taking so damn long to line up a shot.. You might not think it, but I am sure if you work at it and learn to kill with the assault rifles, you will not only be a better sniper, but have faster reflexes.
