How does the unlock system work in SF, if there is even one? Ive heard all kinds of different ramblings about this, so could someone please tell me so I know what to expect when I pull off the wrapping in 4 days time?

Um, well, when you start playing you will get unlocks, prolly after your first round on a ranked server. The unlocks are just regualr weapons in SF. When you unlock them you WILL NOT be unlocking them for SF, but for Core BF2. That's about all there is to it.
EDIT: Oh and I think you'll be getting 3? unlocks according to your rank.

What I meant is in respect to how they work in the actual SF game, as in do you still get unlocks, and which ones do you get (not the actual list of unlocks but whether you can use bf2 ones in sf), if any at all?
You get the original BF2 unlocks to use in SF, while the SF unlocks can only be used in normal BF2.SharkyMcshark wrote:

In SF the unlocks are for core BF2. You will use the weapons "unlocked" as a regular man in SF, but whereas they are unlocks really only for core BF2. Just unlock any first one and you will have it in both Core and SF. While the second unlock for the class will be what is unlocked on core Bf2, not SF.
You forgot to mention that you need the core/vanilla BF2 unlock for a kit before you can get the SF unlock for that kit.Homeschtar wrote:

It will give you as many unlocks as you already have when you install the expansion pack. In addition to that, whenever you rank up, it will give you two unlocks.
