Hi guys,
this is my second post on the subject cause the forums ate my last topic. I'm posting here because I need some computer help. Here's what happened, I had my computer on and it had been running fine for approximately two hours then I went out, and when I came back I found a blue screen. Thinking not much of it I restarted only to find that after the BIOS window I get this come up on my screen.
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
Windows\system32\config\system
"Ok that's odd I thought" so I restarted again and tried to access the BIOS but it for some reason will not allow me. My dad is in Florida for the weekend and I have no clue on how to deal with this so any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you very much,

Thank you Cable and Soalfa. The thing I don't get is that I hadn't deleted anything on the computer, this just blindsided me from outta nowhere. I will try this in the morning.
Also why is it that I've only ever heard bad things about system restore?

Your windows is dead. Mine almost died, I solved it by turning off the psu for a minute and back on and it worked

Where you connected to the Net...possibility of a hack attempt or Virus infection??

And system restore can sometimes fail...

What are the specs for your computer? windows xp? I had an issue once, and I fixed (or helped fix it) by swapping the ram sticks. I don't mean swapping it with new ram, just switching ram a into slot b and ram b into slot a.
