how do these things work i got to a certian rank and i started getting these but im not sure y or how..... could someone please enlighten me????

I can't exactly tell how long I didn't play, but I have just been awarded 38 away points in one round. I connected to a server once this week and (got) disconnected straight away again and didn't bother to try again.
I suppose the away points are based on some average score based on... whatever.
