Alright, my issue is at my school they locked down all the gaming ports however port 80 is still open. How do i get BF2142 to work on this port and if its useing freecap how do i congifure it. Thank you maybe re-routeing? anything please

About 3 months ago the DET, Department of Education and Training, came up with some equity bullshit. They gave every student a login name and password. At school, they have taken total control.

About 3 months ago the DET, Department of Education and Training, came up with some equity bullshit. They gave every student a login name and password. At school, they have taken total control.
- Only DET Email allowed - no Gmail, Hotmail or anything else.
- Video and media sites filtered out - no youtube or anything like that.
- No FORUMS! I can go the the front page of BF2s but I can't go into the forum. What bullshit. The stupid thing is I can still visit the other forums I frequent. God dam it!

Should bypass blocks for wesbites. Wont work for games though.
Wont work, unless its a homebrand school filter, websense and other common blockers will pick up proxy sites, especially that one, websense works on a combonation of banned words in urls and banned urls altogetherTalon wrote:

Funny thing McMinty, school blocks the webpage, which I no longer use, I just go direct to forums.bf2s.com
Yeah, college or using a laptop is going to be the only way you are going to be remotely close to playing 2142 at school. If its a computer lab computer, well...you've got to deal with getting the game, which is roughly 1.72gig onto the computer. Since most PC labs at my school go for minimum cost, and half the other students put heaps of little shit on (I found LIMEWIRE on a computer, FFS dumbass.) Then you've got to deal with the port thing, and after that, you have to watch out for the IT guys remote viewing your ass.
Not worth it.
Same for me at work, though they keep messing things up right now forums.bf2s.com is pretty much the only site that works for me at work the days becomes longer and longer....Sarrk wrote:

i've heard that http tunnel causes massive lag though.
you could always get a list of the ports then go talk to whoever is in charge of this shit and ask him to unblock them for your dorm.

how do u know which ports are blocked? say...that i can't play cod2 and i would like the admin of the network to change the config, wut should i tell him... plz help, cuz my home computer is connected to a network and if i knew which port they need to configer i can tell them

I go to a boarding school and live here year round and it would be kinda nice if i can play computer games. So I'm just throwing out a request to all the brightest minds of the gaming industry (Gamers) to help me bypass my schools firewall. Or if i can possibly change my games port to 80 please help.
