Getting BF2:SF to work without stated methord

I just bought SF today and I'm trying to get it to work. I\m sure as many people have said that the methord of uninstalling everything and then reinstalling everything works fine, unfortunently I don't have that luxury. My BF2 dvd disk is rather scratched thanks to a fellow player using it as a frisbee, and can't use the methord. Is there any alternative I could try to get it working?

why do you have to uninstall anything?

i just installed sf then the patch and it worked fine.

So, just d/l 1.12 patch and it'll run fine?

yes, apply the patch and everything should be fine. Its only if you get bad problems you may need to uninstall etc, its a repair option not a necessity
