OK, so i was playing single player, practicing on my solo skills, and i didnt get under 90 fps. On all high. No lag whatsoever.

But when I play in-game, i rarely get over 55. So wtf, here is my specs. And Im running xfire, fraps, and bf2.

OK,

Intel P4 3.4 GHz @ 3.7 GHz
1gb of Corsair 667 @ 733MHz.
XFX 7600GT 590/1600

So, wtf is wrong?

there is probably something to do with ping. When you play SP, your ping is always 0, cuz you're running the game

AMD rocks AMD rocks AMD rocks i told you over xfire now karma

Its just with there being other human players on the server its normal well i get it
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

Check what's your CPU usage when you play, if it's high then it's your CPU

It's the 1gb, get 2.  I have similar specs and 2gb, and I get from Argentina 80 fps online.

If it's only happening online it should be CPU, that's the only thing that'll take extra strain from playing online. But in sinlge player the maps are only 16 player if I remember right (I haven't used single player for a very long time). Using 16 player maps uses less RAM so that is almost certainly your problem.

Try playing some 16 player maps online and see what your frame rates are on them.

Oh, for the record - Until recently Intel were the ones to blow. Netburst is the gayest invention in the history of processors.

the highest temp it has ever gotten is 59.

maybe i need to get some more RAM.

its fine now, but sometimes it'll get down to 18 fps, but now im at 1280x1024 and im good. 35+ in 64 player servers.

70+ in 32 player or less.

idk, sometimes it does it, its off and on. weird.

The bottleneck is definitely your RAM.
BF2 on HIGH settings requires at least 1.5GB RAM for smooth operation.
You notice a lot of frame lagging, that's your RAM sending information to the page file. You probably have a slow hard drive too. You'll notice the same lag on a "first load" of a map, for a few seconds. If it's happens throughout the game, try lowering your textures to medium. Your hard drive is being used as virtual memory, and you can probably open up your case and hear it spinning.
Textures = medium OR RAM = 1.5GB+

You have 1gb RAM and an average gfx card, you can't expect to run at 90 fps online with that rig, remember there are potentially 63 other players in game aswell, in single player there are 16?

With an extra 1gb RAM you will see better FPS.
