Daniel Craig=1 step above Tim Dalton on the failure totem pole.

Brosnan wasnt the coolest bond ever Sean Connery was.

I saw the film last night and it was an awesome film. However the only thing was that it wasnt very James Bondish. Not enough action and no evil bad guy trying to blow up the world. He only wants 150 million, thats all the film is about.

Well if Yahoo says it then it must be true... Casino Royal MIGHT be a good movie (I havn't seen it yet) but it's certainly NOT the best ever. I'm a very big Bond fan and from what I have seen in the previews they killed the entire concept that made Bond Bond.
In any case, I have a full theater collectors card which I am going to use for a free ticket to this movie, because I doubt if it's worth my money TBH...

Casino Royal was good. A bit long. I had to pee at what I thought was the end, came back, and sat there for an additional 15-20 minutes. It had the Return of the King ending where there were like, 5+ different times it could've ended, but kept going.

Craig did an AMAZING job!! I never watched the old Bond flicks, as they just don't suit my taste, but this is my fav of them all. Brosnan was getting to gay and old for me. Getting Craig to play it was perfect.

I see many good films coming along from him now.

Also, someone please explain to me why each 007 is named James Bond? Is that the name that they adopt? Or do they just happen to birth a ton of James Bond's in England that become MI6 agents?

James Bond is just a character without age. He's been around since the 1960's, hasn't aged a day and in that time 6 different actors played him. It's not so much that there's been 6 different James Bond's. The James Bond Craig plays is the same Bond that Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan played.

I liked it. Up there with Thunderball and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Connery is still the best Bond.

I saw the movie Wednesday (had a pass for the screenie, know a guy who's wife works for a paper) and I say it was one of the worst Bond movies. I had no problems with the new Bond, it's just a guy playing a role. But there's a card game in the last 1/4 of the movie and it goes on too long. They have to throw some things in to try to remind you that you're at an action movie. To me the sitting idle watching them play poker killed the rest of the movie.

You do know that OHMSS is usually considered to be the worst movie in the existing collection? The guy playing Bond in that movie sucked even more then Craig... Seems to me you have bad taste :p (j/k)

I never liked the sort of happy-go-lucky type of Bond exemplified by Roger Moore and I think George Lazenby was certainly competent in the role.

Fleming wrote Bond as a kind of ruthless killer. Almost sociopathic.

As for your point on what is or is not considered good or bad, remember, Tom Cruise is considered a competent actor by many people. I consider him little more than a foppish git.

Yeah Pierce was the best bond IMHO too, he also did his own stunts. No director yelled cut, while connery slipped off to the side and had a martini while his stunt double did the actual work.

Mind you I never liked bond movies; too cheesy. There is always a boat, car, pen gun, evil villian that has no gun, and sharks with lazers on their heads... whenever bond needed it. complete cheese for the masses.

True, but most of the time cirtics alway give the complete opposite of what it deserves. They gave I Robot and most of my favorite movies 1 star... and gave most movies I hate 5/5 like Kill Bill vol.2 (the first one was good) ffs that movie was a P.O.S the first one is pacted with blood and gore and in vol. 2 they barely had enough blood to fill an IV pouch.

Just because critics like the movie doesn't mean they are right. If anything it's a matter of opinion and taste. It's my opinion that Craig was the worst choice for a new Bond EVER. And the whole 'going back in time to show how he got his 00 status' isn't my taste and is also not a cool thing to do with a movie series like Bond in general. There was probably a reason Casino Royale was never made into a movie in the early days, so why did they have to ignore the great minds that came up with Bond and give it their own twist?

Not in this one. There's none of that stupid shit gadgetry that is beyond fake in the real world. This is an extremely modern Bond film. No invisible cars, no rockets shooting out of the cars headlights, or lame stunts in boats.

It's just pure ASS kicking!!! Craig did a bad ass job, no matter what anyone says.

They got you on that, I, Robot is a stupid piece of fucking shit of a movie. Kill Bill 1 was good, 2 was like eating decomposing vomit (QT is a shitty director).
