i posted earlier saying that i have a problem when i load up my pc,

the post was:

hey guys, i just formatted my pc as it buggered up and uit needed it any way. my problem is when i boot up my pc it has to have the xp disk in the drive to boot up, if its not in the drive it says "insert boot disk and press enter". i have a 320gb HD and 2 36gb raptors in raid0 i made a partition of 15g on the raided drives for the OS and installed the OS on to the partition, could that be conflicting with the load up??

now that ive been thinking my drives are set up like this; my c: drive is for storage, i have a d: drive which is a partition of my 2 36gb raptors in RAID0 which i only have my OS on, i also have a G: drive which is the rest of my 2 raided drives which i use for installing games onto.

could the problem be that the hard drive that my OS is on isnt the C: drive, as in the letter C.

Although it should not be a problem, it can depending how certain software is written. You're just begging for anomalies.

that shouldnt be a problem; before my last reformat i had win on E:, C: wasnt even partitioned with something win could read (true crypt partition)

Just a thought, Swedge, but by chance, in your BIOS, is the 320GB first in the Hard Disk menu?
I may be wrong, but I've had a system with Windows loaded on E:\ as well, and I believe in the beginning I had the same error message until I switched the E:\ drive to first in Hard Disk priority. However, this was on an older, P4 2.6 Northwood processor and a Intel D865PERLL motherboard, with, it just so happens, a 250GB 2500JB IDE drive as C:\ (was primary HDD at first) and 2 37GB SATA drives in RAID_0 as E:\ where Windows was installed.

hey guys thanks for the help, i think its what warrior dave said it would be. i had my raided drives 1st in the hard drive list so i changed them around so that my 320gb was at the top of the list and it works. thank god for that, it was annoying having to keep the xp cd in when booting up.

Damn I'm good!
Annoying having to have a CD in the drive to use any software, it's one of two reasons why I emulate all software discs if possible.
It's been a long time but I think I sent you in the right direction?
