hey everyone,
i seem to be having a problem browsing the web, a couple of days ago the response time from when you clicked "go"(or hit enter) till the web page has loaded has decreased dramatically, most times it says page cannot be displayed after trying to load for  say maybe 15 seconds.. i click refresh and it takes a odd 10 seconds but now the page loads. however nearly all links on the page that finally loaded, load lightening fast  when clicked on, (EG top of this page the links, "home, "forums", "My leaderboard" etc will load quick.. faster then usual).

it is as if the first time i click go it loads the page i want + the links so they will be ready for when i click them, i do not know what is causing this problem but it is frustrating, does anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix it. (it happens to all comps on network, but on mine the worst) on other it still loads the first time but just takes a while. i think it might be ISP related, but download speed and ping is up to scratch.
soo yeh, any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

try scanning you PC, it may be a worm if its stressing your PC down, also get free version of Adware, Spybot search and destroy and you can and use anti virus to scan your PC, for the the first part also try using the control panel administrative tools and from there Performance, you have to know what you want to monitor in order to determine what the problem is, but if you have networking experience's and books on networking you ll see what each counter which u are monitoring is for. Also try addition additional columns in the task manager for the processes tab in order to see what program is taking the most amount of memory and such.

You have more than one PC on your LAN? I'd say someones hoggin all the bandwidth or has some spyware/virus.

Unplug everyone but yourself, and make sure your not running limewire, or some other sort of P2P software. Also do a hard reset on your router as well.

I read your post better.. Maybe try turning automatically detect settings off in tools/internet options/connections/lan settings. Sometimes that makes it go real slow at first.

That is because if you look on your hard drive I bet you will find nothing, but porno, Porno, PORNO!

Seriously though, make sure your firewall's etc are set to about medium level (custom all the better) delete cookies (bah the pain) and temp files etc.  Also finially try testing your own line, and or contact your isp to find out if there are issues in your area.  I had problems a while back, and found out it was BT in there infinit wisdom diggin up the dam road again, I suppose I should of guess that when I saw the big BT van with guys and drills around

yeah something is clogging ur PC like I said if you contact your PC provider they ll check the connection and reboot it and tell ask if u see any differenece, if you say no they will tell u its not their problem. Also the people who work for the ISP those desk technicians are not so bright if you are looking for help from them good luck. Also like I said something is clogging up your system and not preventing you from running full speed someone else is stealing ur bandwidth.

If your ISP is doing maintainence you will get slow down.....your ISP could have been getting a DOS attack....if you are sure the problem is not at your end and it has cleared up now then it was something goinng on at your ISP end......

But about once a week empty your browser cache and delete cookies also, run spyware and adaware software and keep your virus checker up to date....

if you run your own network ...set bandwidth limits to the other user(s)... that should keep you running fine

Oh and get some porno...its healthy!!
