i had it without a doubt twice, and possibly a third time (very mild if it was, at first i thought i had a bunch of itchy pimples, then realized i was getting them all over). no fun. the later cases were the same as you, i was around people with shingles and all in school. i do have a couple of real small scars, though they do fade, so don't worry about them too much, if they do get real bad vitamin e pills will help your skin heal. pills are better than lotions as you are healing from the inside out.krazed wrote:

im 19, apperantly i got this off of my mom who is just getting over shingles... i should have been immune since i got chicken pox when i was 7, apperantly not. anyone else here ever have a relapse of this horrible affliction? if so, how bad was it? ive currently lost count at around 200 spots, im covered in them, including at least 30 on my head in my hair... *sigh* i should have moved out last month when i had the chance

My family tells me I had chicken pox really badly when I was 2. Don't remember it though, so no advice to give you.

My wife had them for the second time when she was 30. It was an absolute horror fest. She was in so much pain. Although I think it gets worse as you get older. I would have a test next year to see if you have become immune because you definatley don't want o get it a third time.krazed wrote:

The upside was that we found out that her sister also was no longer immune and that she take precautions while pregnant when her son got the pox. Something to think about.
You do not want to expose a fetus to chicken pox.
Both sisters had the pox while 7 and 9.
