I Have made this post before... Long ago, People have left and people have come a new.

So here we go again?

Your Stats mean nothing if you consider certain Variables...

Who you play with, Who you play against, What server you play on, What Maps you play.

if you only play City Maps you probably have a high SPM.
if you only play Infantry Only and have half a brain you can get a good KDR.
if you play with a clan that stacks teams you can get a good WLR.
if you have poor internet you will have a slight disadvantage against people with a lower ping.


Deaths:

If your Driver/Pilot is an idiot you will die
If your internet crashes you will die
If you get kicked from the server you will die


This site is all about stats, and Overall Stats DO NOT Reflect how good you are...so why even look at them?

Stats can show how BAD a person is at the game, but if you can see first off that "Eh, his stats aren't that bad" then you can Confirm they are a good Player.

Take a look at my stats for instance... Not to bad, KDR is almost 3... my WLR is almost 2 ... my SPM is Average - - Ok.

I used to have a KDR of 1.45 ...I worked long and hard to bring it up, and if you look at my 'Progress Chart' on my stats page you can see the Climb, and Climbing still, never Dropping... WHY?

Because in the last 3 months My KDR has been 6.45

I used to have a WLR of 1.2 ...I now play to win, points don't matter, the only two things I concen myself with is winning the round and staying alive.

According to a Source in the last 3 Months my WLR has been 3.55

In attempting to stay alive I avoid easy targets like Tanks and Such when enemy bomber is being used by tallented players, This making my Travel time between locations slower, giving me a Low SPM, I also do not play on any 24/7 Karkand Servers which is becoming difficult to avoid because people are switching to BF2142 and with less players, most of them are Populating 24/7 City Map/Karkand Servers. (Mostly Infantry Only)

My SPM used to be 1.9 and is now 2.3, According to a Source in the last 3 Months my SPM has been 2.61

Basicly what this is saying is Stats don't really matter... you are as good as you are in game!

yeah well people only use the stats tracker for themselves really, thsi forum isnt just about stats, it wouldnt be a forum, this is more of a social gaming group or sumpin like that

I would say my biggest peev about people in this game are the ones who claim to be good

"Look at my rank, Look at my stats, I pwn you"

And the only map they have ever played for the last 400+ Hours was Karkand.

Go to your stat page... Divide your totaly Time you've spent on Karkand/ By your Total Hours playing the game.

That will be your % of your time spent on Karkand...

If it is 75%+ You ...ummm, you know what, Fuck You.
If it is 50% - 75% You are a Filthy Karkand Whore
If it is 33% - 49% You are a Karkand Whore
If it is 15% - 33% You like some Karkand, Its bad but could be worse.
If it is less then 15% I rub your shoulder and kiss your neck.

It seems fair to me...

I agree with a lot of what you said.  My squad consists of 5-6 active BF2 players and we tend to stack a side so that is the main reason my W/L is as high as it is.

Nice, it's another "If you play Karkand you're a worthless piece of shit" thread in disguise. News flash, Karkand = infantry. Anyone that wants to play this game for it's infantry value rather than armor/jet/chopper whoring value (limited to only a few players per server) understands that Karkand is the map best suited for doing so.

Stop crying already... my god.

Jester: yes, i can agree that stats are just numbers and cannot judge real skill. since each persons style of play (a jet on wake, medic  on karkand, running around capping flags, etc) is different, no two players can be directly compared by stats alone. however, saying stats dont matter is an opinion. "dont even look at them"? they are MY stats, and they tell ME how i play this game. while you say that stats dont matter, you sure like to point out all the pretty numbers that you have earned in the past 183 hours of gameplay. basically what i am saying is, one's stats are for their own use and enjoyment, not for someone elses, and you, jester, dont need to inform everyone else of your opinons on how to judge their stats.

out of 31 hours on karkand, and 175 hours total time, i get:
5.6%

is that right?

Who cares if people only play karkand, I play it all the time because its the only map where I don't find myself walking around just to get one kill, then have to walk all the way across the map to get another kill...then get raped by a chopper or something.

Stats & stuff are fun & people are addicted to looking at them hence the reason EA stole away the idea from chuy so they could make money with their site. Sure they don't matter but they make a gang of money in the end.

I don't like playing vehicles anyways so why would I want to play any other map besides Sharqi and Karkand that are more infantry based...and no matter what the map I come out on top anyways so it doesn't matter.

The same argument can be made for people in armor. 64% of your kills are in a vehicle. 47% of your time is spent in a vehicle.
About 90% of my time was spent at Karkand. It's my chocolate map. 5% of my kills are from a vehicle. About a third from a Humvee, either car-bombing people like you, or running people over, or the M2 look-alike mounted MG. I have more kills with an Assault Rifle than you have with any hand-held weapon. Do I "pwn" you, no. Would I "pwn" you? Probably until you got into a tank, then I'd car-bomb the shit out of you until you wimped out and left.

Karkand is the Ice Arena, Karkand is the Katabatic, Karkand is the popular map. I play there because it's a nice setting, with an attacking force, a defending force, an urban environment, but most of all, it's popular. Playing vehicles isn't bad, it's just I'd rather mack you as an infantry than as a tank. Since most vehicle drivers seem to camp spawns anyways, it's just another good reason NOT to like you, and another good reason TO car-bomb the shit out of you every time I see you sitting at my spawns.

As for stats: I found a server where there were very good people. BF2s is a good place for stats, but there's more than stats here, there's a community. We're a part of that community, no matter what our relationship to it, me being a new person to the community. I like BF2s not just for the stats, but for the community. I've been reading this forum since Chuy built the damned thing! Only decided recently to sign up though as I don't play BF2 lately.

Karkand's decent, but I'd rather play Sharqi, Mashtuur, or Jalalabad. Biggest issue with these 4 is: no jets, so I can't build up aviator time

Woah now... here is how it works, you gotta be in a vehicle to compete against vehicles.

For Maps Like:

Gulf of Ohman
Zatar Wetlands
Fushee Pass
Operation Cleensweep

If you not in a Vehicle your going to die very soon.

And for maps like:

Karkand
Sharqi
Mastuur
Jalalabad
Dalian
Daqing
WakeIsland

You can go on Foot 75% of the time, So there is no excuse if you only play Karkand, these following maps you get Drive around in your Car, get to a Flag, hop out and Do your Business as infanty.
