No. I'm running it in widescreen and it does work fine. I play it in 1680x1050 all the time, it looks fine, not fat. It's not identical, but it's not just stretched across the screen. That is what happens if you set the resolution through the in game menu as no widescreen resolutions are listed. If you force the right resolution you don't get that problem.Bell wrote:
You heard right, bf2 simply does not support widescreen atall, there are ways to get a widescreen display on it, although all that does is stetch the image across the screen, so everything looks fat.Techworld wrote:
Im also reading of some problems running bf2 with widescreen... can you confirm how to make it work and does the picture look stretched?

dudes able to notice qualities in 4miliseconds lolGawwad wrote:
Can't say anything about those. I don't know any of the manufacturers. If you're gonna go with one of those, take one with 8MS refresh rate. 12MS is too slow.

Above 8ms is noticably worse than below. For gaming you want under 8ms.p3lvicthrust wrote:

just go for the 19inch
I think that picture I used (not mine btw) was only uploaded in 1280x720 so it may of be different actually, infact I am pretty sure I nicked that from someone on this form . I see how it wouldnt be stretched now from the 16:10 as tht tends to stretch it upward, so the widescreen pulling it out should cancel each other out (never thought of that, good idea running 16:10 rather than usual 16:9 for trying widescreen on a non supported game)Bertster7 wrote:

That resolution is 1280x720. Which is not a good resolution to run it in. If you have a widescreen monitor and run it in native resolution (I don't know of any that run that as a native resolution, although they may exist), it looks much better than that. As I said, I run it in 1680x1050 which is a 16:10 aspect ratio. 19" widescreens tend to be slightly lower res, but the same aspect ratio, 1440x900 I believe.
If I can be bothered I'll post some screenies later.
Here's what it looks like on mine.Bell wrote:
