Cant get my first sergeant rank?

I have over 20,000 points and all the badges needed for the first sergeant, but still, i dont have the rank. Can any1 help me plz? And my BF2 name is the same as my user name if u want to cheak out my stats.

ok u cant get to first sergeant, i know it sucks since u have all the badges. wait... did u get the badges after 20,000 points or b4? if its after... READ THE UBAR!!! the ranks are NOT progressible

badges then 20,000 or 20,000 then badges
Cant imagine why it would even make a difference.

You just should get all the badges needed for that rank BEFORE you have the 20,000/50,000 Points.

Here's a quick rundown for you. Really, anyone that's close to promotion should be checking their stats and situation before going 'over'.

Next Rank: Master Sergeant
You are not yet eligible for the advanced rank of First Sergeant because you are missing the awards: Basic Pistol Combat Badge. << -- So it's clearly obvious that it's ONLY the combat badges that are needed to qualify for the rank of First Sergeant.

Next Rank: Master Gunnery Sergeant
You are not yet eligible for the advanced rank of Sergeant Major because you are missing the awards: Basic Transport Badge, Basic Helicopter Badge, Basic Ground Defense Badge. <<-- And this one tells us that's it the BASIC badges, as mentioned above.

Seriously, check your rank position before you accrue your qualifying points.... There's a guide there to tell you what you need BEFORE you progress to your next rank.

The above two examples are from another player.... the next one is mine

Next Rank: First Sergeant

88.66%Score: 17,731 of 20,000. At your historical rate, you should earn 2,269 in 20 days (or 37:47:49 straight). <<-- If you have a look at my position, you'll see I have ALL my combat badges but I'm missing some basic badges.

I made sure I got the badges needed to move up to the next rank, which is First sergeant.

You must get the badges first. If you don't, you'll just get the normal rank instead of the special one, since the criteria for that is just score.

And as has been said, you can't go from Master Sergeant to First Sergeant.

Hey well dont feel bad I just got gunnery and have all the basic badges but in BFHQ it says that my next rank is Master Sergeant and here on BF2s it says that my next rank is First Sergeant........Im so confused as to which rank ill get next.......Does anyone have a similar problem

I also have that prob (22.000 pts, all badges after 20.000 pts) and I am master sergeant. It would be ok for me, but the UBAR entry is confusing. It says:
Master Sergeant -> 20.000 pts
First Sergeant -> 20.000 pts + badges
which seems to be that first follows master !
But in game it seems if you get badges FIRST you will be first sergeant if later you will be master (?)
But which rank is higher in a commander vote ?

If you have the correct badges, you wil get First sergeant.... It would help if you posted your play name

That's where you got it wrong . It's badges (certain criteria) + 20,000 pts = First Sergeant.

20,000 pts + badges (certain criteria) = Master Sergeant.

You will not qualify for First Sergeant. Your next rank will be at Badges + 50,000 pts = Rank: Sergeant Major ( I think )

Says the gunnery sergeant ... It might have been funny if ronin was master sergeant, but as he's a Sergeant Major, I think the 'put down' was a bit weak .... anyway, this isn't a thread to flame..... it's in the help section
