Did it escape your notice that I was responding above? I didn't jump in with post #2 to plug the sniper's cause.Towelly wrote:
Todd no offence but you have failed to realise that this thread is about how people are bored with the constant argument over how useful/useless snipers are.
Perhaps you'd like to read your sentence while looking in a mirror.
Yes, and you'd continue to fail. Look at what I actually typed above, to you and stryyker, and tell me honestly if you think I'm not being reasonable.Towelly wrote:
I could argue with you at very great length...
Blanket defence of snipers in the game (snipers rawk!) would be just as bad as blanket condemnation (snipers are all fags! which is why I don't do it, and why I've tried to lay out, repeatedly, where it is that snipers can contribute to the team's goal; and Christ dude, it's not like I'm the only one. Go read some of Books's posts on sniping for a start, that's just one perspective on a particular style of play using the kit, and I don't think anyone could fault them.
And goddamn if the proof isn't available for anyone who bothers to look on any handful of games they play. Sure it won't be every game that a sniper (or more than one) makes a contribution, but then I've had games where I've outscored medics in team points (that's medics, plural, not some noob at the bottom of the scoreboard) so we should be careful of gross generalisations, doncha think?

Oh and I just had to include this absolute classic from another thread.
Oh FFS!stryyker wrote:
What you are doing is picking the people you like as the best. Thats like picking 3 people out of Los Angeles and calling them the smartest, most athletic, and tallest people alive. It makes no sense.
I'm certain the irony of this statement is lost on you
