No the fx70 series has no potential
This solution was brought by amd only to stop its failure in every benchs. Its overpriced, drain lots of power and has no potential.
If you decide to go for the fx70 series, you are stuck with a mobo thats got 2 socket F which sucks. This mobo may only run 4 types or cpu at this moment, and as soon as amd find how to incorporate 4 cores in the same cpu, they will be back on socket am2+, or maybe stay on Socket F, but you will still need to buy 2 x quad cores to make it work (mobos that has 2 socket F can only run with 2 cpu...) for a total of 8 cores and this, for a million of bucks.
Buy a 400$ mobo and be obligated to buy 2 cpu for the rest of the mobo's life, IF and IF amd keeps releasing new Socket F cpu's ? no...
so no, this has no potential, more a proof of concept imo.
