Now that I have this X-Fi, I would like to use my microphone in the card, rather than the XBox 360 controller as I am doing right now.  The XBox 360 gives everyone else bad quality of my voice, which obviously sucks.  The mic that I want to use on my X-Fi has a microphone needle and an analog speaker needle.  I like my 2.1 speakers which are plugged into my analog jack and not my Flexijack by the way hence the reason for wanting to use a microphone in my flexijack.  So therefore I would rather not use a mono-speaker headset over my speakers.

I've already tried to put my microphone into that slot to get it to work.  But it pretty much muted everything and I couldn't figure out how to unmute it and ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the X-Fi.

So does anyone know how I can pull this off.  To make it easier to understand: I want to plug in my mic into the mic port and still have sound come out of my speakers plugged into the analog port.

Splitter.  That's what I do.  But with X-Fi, you should have at least 5.1 speakers.  What a waste.

Can't really afford a good set of 5.1 speakers.

Unless you know of a good set of 5.1 speakers.  Also, I think you misunderstood, I have my speakers plugged into one jack and I want to plug my mic into the other port.

Do you have onboard sound too?
I have to plug my headset into the motherboard & leave the speakers in my X-Fi. all you hear on the headset is TS & all you hear on the speakers in the game.

I have onboard but it completely uninstalled itself when I installed my first sound card.  It doesn't even appear in the device manager anymore, lol.  That's quite unfortunate as that was a very good idea.

Ya I'd try to reinstall the onboard sound so you can use both. If there's no CD just go to the company website, it's kinda weird that they got uninstalled automatically, maybe your puter just doesn't like you

If you figure out how to do it though please let me know. I have a working headset/speaker setup right now but it "barely" works. When in TS even after I turn my mic volume all the way up through windows & TeamSpeak people can barely hear me so i have to almost yell & then I'd imagine it sounds pretty shitty to everybody else.

Asus doesn't have the P4B266LA on their site anymore.
