I have heard they are a ok company. Maybe others know more. I build my own so I can't say for sure.

I would go to dell and put all the money you can into the GFX card and RAM. Don't go for the fastet processor you can find. Anything over 2 or 2.5 GHz is all you'll need for most games. Be sure to get at least a Gig of RAM

If your planning on upgrading to vista yes. The intel Duo core's are in the lead at this moment in time.

No, waste of money for you if you only have a grand to spend. Don't get me wrong, they are dope but like I said, a grand will only get you so far. Most people don't have that fancy stuff yet so don't feel left out.

Vista ain't comming out in a month... I'm running the RTM of it which is like the full release, and it sucks, give vista about half a year. Get an intel core 2 duo thing since it's awsome.

an intel core 2 duo 1.83 GHZ out performs a p4 3.6ghz or an AMD 2.4 ghz.

This might get old to hear, but make it point to seek out reviews and get educated, sites like www.tomshardware.com. It will only benefit you in the short term and the long run. But if you are buying a proc, the intel core 2 duo is the fastest currently, as a matter of fact, not a matter of opinion.

if ur going to play games, then 360 or ps3 will be better xD and also get HD TV, and no need for a new PC.
You already own one right?

I just built my first pc last week full for 1300$
for my friend
Pentium D 3.0 Ghz
Gig of Corsair
250 WD SATA
7900 GT 256
Gigabyte ATX mobo
Xion Case

19 inch wide monitor

for a grand you could get the computer i built without the monitor
Runs BF2 on all high settings with a 1280x1060 res at 60hz
no lag.

Its really not that complicated to actually assemble the computer
The BIOS are fairly easy also
