I was argueing with friends about bunnyhopping and dolphindiving. My argument was, that the real BH and DD isn´t possible anymore, so to hop and go prone isn´t lame anymore, because you can´t do it the volx way (except of using macros). In my opinion, jumping and going prone is a defensive act and not some kind of lame behaviour. The oppositions argument was, that jumping and diving is a physics exploit, because of the bad hitreg, you can´t be shot that easy anymore, when you are jumping and diving - and that´s the reason why they still think, it is lame.
but what about doing barrel rolls with the chopper or even the jets? when you are barrelrolling, the choppers hitreg is way too slow, so you have to aim far behind the target, to hit it. when you are rolling, you try to avoid the enemy tv-missile - but you exploit the poor netcode this way, because it is harder, to hit the invisible hitbox, instead of the choppers model.
so what do you think:
if server-rules say: don´t bunnyhop! shouldn´t they also say:"don´t barrel roll!" ???
aren´t both things the same exploit?
i do jump and i do roll, but i am wondering, why it is ok to barrelroll and in the same sentence they flame about bunnyhopping?
