Alright, since DX10 won't be coming out for laptops for a while I might as well settle for a good gaming laptop right now. I'd rather not go without BF2 or 2142 or CSS at my dad's apartment, so I think I'll settle for a laptop.
Now then, here are the requirements I can think of (it's late and I'm tired so I'm sure I'll edit stuff in tomorrow)
-Can run games like BF2, 2142, CS:S on all high with ease
-Has 802.11g support (would be surprised to find a laptop without that actually)
-Preferrably a 17" screen, although I doubt a powerhouse laptop would have anything less...
-Core 2 Duo
-Will be able to run future games such as Crysis and Alan Wake on very nice graphics with ease (I'm guessing the highest on those would utilize DX10, which laptops don't have)
-Not too expensive, though I doubt any of these things will go for less than 2K
-Will run Vista Home Premium with ease... an express upgrade thing would be nice, but I won't mind getting it in stores since I like those snazzy boxes it comes in
-No preference on ATi or nVidia, whichever will kick more ass
I've been looking around, so far I've looked at Dell and Alienware. Alienwares, yeah I know the stories behind them. But they do seem good. Dell's XPS laptops also seem good (on their site, the middle one I'm talking about... not that huge, desktop-esque thing nor that tiny, not-really-a-gaming-laptop thing), albeit pricy. I want a reputable, solid brand (Dell I know has improved in recent years, if their prices can be justified I'll get one of theirs). It'd be nice if the case isn't too cheesy (e.g., the XPS case and Alien case are kinda cheesy IMO), but that isnt a huge factor.
All help is appreciated
