Well i have a 7600GS with 1 gig of ram and an AMD Athlon 64+ 3700 proccesor.
I came home from school turned it on and i started up a game. 2 minutes later it froze. I smelt a weird smell in the air and looked inside. Found my video card at a really high temperature. High enough to burn your hand if you held it on. Does anyone know what caused this? It's only done it once and theres no dust, i clean it reguarly, and i dont know what caused it.
Also, when i let it cool for a few hours i restarted my computer and it started to find everything really slowly like
1024 RAM .... Ok
Master CD ROM
Slave CD ROM
Then it took 1-2 minutes to find my hard drive or anything else. After it got past this it would say something along the line of, Your computer was not started succesfully please choose a configuration to start it as, so i do it restarts and it goes back to it. If im lucky it will say, Select proper boot device and restart computer. I even go Press Ctrl + Alt + del to restart computer.
Any Idea's?
