Your opinion on female sports commentators / experts?

In my opinion, female sports commentators are terrible. It seems wrong to me, no matter how fine the lady may be. I simply cannot concentrate to focus on what is being said.

I'm sure there are talented women out there who love sports just as much as me, but the thought of, for example, female soccer commentators is completely wrong to me. And here are probably some sports that would be more appropriate for women to commentate/debate. It's hard to explain why I feel like this but it just seems like women have a more "2D" view of what's going on out there, and when they "analyze" the gameplay it's like they read it out of a poorly written book.

I say let the women do the weather reports and sissy talkshows, but let those who know sports stick to commentating it.

Anyone is better than Madden...

In the Madden games, you should be able to ask Madden and have him give you useful advice. Or say "Make me a Canoli, and then we will talk..."

I dunno. I can't stand hearing female women in Brazilian soccer - it just doesn't sound right. But that's how I've grown up with it. I'm not sexist in any way, but it just doesn't have the same feel to it.

The way I feel, for men commentating sports it seems more like a hobby and you can tell when a person really likes what he/she is doing. I just don't feel that when watching female commentators/reportters live. Feels like they are reading off a piece of paper that's been written by a man.

lol.. no offense. Just my personal opinion.

There are very few women commentating sports so when you encounter one who is really terrible at it it´s easy to generalise, Had one here in Sweden doing hockey.. Damn she´s terrible Sweden vs Russia, and only thing she keeps saying: the russian guy pass the puck to the other Russian guy who pass it on too another Russian. I almost instantly muted the TV and turn the radio on.

However there´s allot of competent women as well i´m happy as long a they put the best Man/Woman at the job.

If a commentator (male or female) is so bad that if - with voice electronically scrambled - your ears bleed and the UN starts to investigate a possible violation of the Geneva Conventions, then they should be sacked. Not on the basis of gender.

i heard somewhere that different parts of the brain are used to decipher men and womens speech. woman's uses the same parts as when your listening to music.

I dont think there are many sports fanatic women out there who are really given the chance to do real analysis or comentating. All Ive ever seen are the lame reporters working the sidelines and feeding pre-written cues to athletes in interviews.

Edit: It also helps that male commentators are almost always former athletes/coaches.
