I will finally boot up and install windows in a "new" pc.
Full Tower Antec Case
eVGA nForce 590 SLi motherboard
eVGA GeForce 7950 GT KO 512mb
Crucial DDR2 PC2 8000 2 GB 2x1 GB sticks
AMD Athlon XP 62 X2 5000+ 2.6 Ghz Dual Core
Sound Blaster 24 Bit 7.1
80 GB Harddrive IDE (only old part besides case)
Liteon DVD +/- R/RW burner 20x
500w Rosewill PSU
4 80mm Case Fans
1 Blue cold Cathone Light (maybe getting a green)
Windows XP home Pro
The last parts are on their way here, and I had to sacrafice some quality (8800 GT and a better PSU) due to being laid off recently. Will post pics of the rig once its up and running. I took hours to full take apart the case clean and dust it. Mounted the orginal mobo and went to put in the CPU when I noticed I had gotten a AM2 cpu and 939 mobo (the X2 series runs on both sockets) so I RMA'd the mobo and had to change from my previous 184 pin RAM to some 240 pin RAM. That cost me a pretty penny, so I thought I would delay some more, but I got some birthday cash in and started ordering some more parts. I bought a new mobo on my way back from an A's game, ordered the new DVD drive that night, and noticed I couldn't power the mobo with my orginal 500w PSU so I RMA'd it last night and ordered a new one that can. Once it arrives I just need to plug in the power and start it up with my windows CD in the drive.
Of course this brings up the usual question of newbieness. With a new chipset mobo my harddrive and windows won't recognize it and force me to reformat the drive correct?
