two GTXs for high end rig -> about 750w PSU
you need to have some extra power so the psu runs more cooler and at better efficiency
EDIT: and for karma-kills: Thermaltake Toughpower 850w has 4 pci-e power cables so it can easily handle 8800GTX SLi
