You can see the 'dynamic light' coming through the tree tops and the amazing physics that come with the DX10 enabled Crysis. Looks like my investment in a 8800Gtx this summer should be justified!

I don't really care. DX9 will have all the cool features of Crysis, just a little less sexy.

Any 8800 series card can handle DX10.
I think I should go buy one someday.

It'll be able to play the DX10 parts of the game, but it'll probably take a hit to the FPS if you crank the options up.

Or any 2900 series card. You didn't mention the 8600 or even the 8500, which can both handle DX10.

lol at the idea of Crysis on an 8500 though.

Can a 6800 handle this game in any form?

I have a 6800GT right now, and I hear that it can do it on the lowest of low settings.  But I'm currently waiting for computer parts that I ordered to arrive so I can assemble my rig which is designed for Crysis.

I was wondering why he said ultra, i thought it was some sort of running mode for my card. Oh well, snap.

?. Don't you have to have Vista for DX10 to work?

Yeah. But you can still use Vista and have DX9 as well.
So you shouldn't bother with your DX10 card unless you have Vista.

I hate to ask again, but Ryan, will a 6800 be able to run Crysis? I'm sure it could run low settings.

Oh probably.

I heard the recommended gear for high settings is at least a 7800 (which is getting a bit old already)

So a 6800 should be able to run it, low settings though.

Is ther not going to be a DX10 version for Xp then?
I remember people talking about DirectX 9.d or something supporting the DX10 features.
