Over night a coal ship has run a ground on Nobby's Beach in Newcastle where I live.  Here is the news link:

"It reminds me of the 1974 cyclone conditions that we had here when a ship ran aground up here in Stockton Bight, and that ship was called the Signa and that ship stayed there for evermore," - Dave Edwards, Nobbys Surf Club president.
It is absolutely surreal. The weather over the past few days (in particular today and overnight) reminds me of the movie "the day after tomorrow" for some reason. I live in the CBD and all i've been hearing is sirens. Very crazy stuff.  Anyway, I just thought I'd show you all whats been happening. Hopefully you find it interesting.

the ship was beached while i was listening, and apparently 3 other ships called sos. the weather was some of the worst ive ever seen

I can see over Newcastle harbor from my house and there's a tug trying to rescue another ship which is getting dangerously close to stockton beach where the Signa washed up. I haven't seen the weather this bad for so long too. The swell is around 15ft so I can see how the ships are having trouble.

Sounds like the weather we had here back in November/December..

We had 4 Trees fall onto our Property.. 1 Landed on our house, and the rest took out our fence and Hedges.. it was pretty wild.

Ya no kidding, it was pretty bad.. I was outside my house across the street when the worst hit..

You could hear and see the trees snapping like toothpicks.. pretty scary.

How good is this weather. About fucking time it started raining.

I know that most of us Aussies love the sunshine and blue sky, i like it myself, but man do i looooooove the dark and wet as well.

All i ask for is 4 specific seasons. This random shit is pissing me off.

The weather where I live pwns all you nubs.

Category 5 cyclones...

Two have passed within 75km of my town in the past 2 years.

The building next door to me has lost it's roof before. I've had both rivets and bolts within the flat I live in break under the strain.

Trees have fallen all over the town...

Coast has changed shape...

Sentinel, come north. In the tropics we are getting much, much more rain now.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
