I haven't seen a thread for stories of family or friends that couod use an extra prayer, an extra thought or just a little positive energy so here we go. This is completely non religious. Just a place to share a storie and give the people that need it a little extra.
Little back ground. My best man has been by my side through thick and thin since the 6th grade. He was the best man at my wedding and he made me the god father of his first born. He is the closest to a true selfless friend as I will certainly ever know. He is a husband and a father of two wonderfull little girls. He tried to be a marine but was sent home after a seizure. Since then he has been a truck drive spending weeks on the road putting his wife though nursing school. His family has always had the worst luck. Right after we graduated highs school his younger brother burned to death in a car accident with 2 of his foot ball team mates. A few years later his Aunt and Uncle were killed in a car accident.
Last year he was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 27. He had a mass the size of a grape fruit in his chest and was barely able to breath. He has gone through all the chemo, radiation and even a bone marrow transplant. He has been on deaths door more than once. Two weeks ago the doctors we just waiting to declare him cure. Everything look great and he had all the hope in the world. Today he is back in the hospital. The Cancer has moved to his bone marrow and spleen. They had to take him off the drugs that were being used to keep his body from rejecting the original doner marrow. Not even he sound to hopefull at this point. I worry more for his family then I do for him. I know he will stay strong and I know he will continue to support his family though these tough times but if the day comes I fear they will loose the steady sholder that has supported them though so many storms.
All I ask is a kind thought for a good man.
Thank you,
