EA's Genius with the Award System. or " My Epiphany" It makes you become a better team player.
Most people pretty much do their own thing and ignore teammates. They drive off in empty vehicles while three guys are calling for pickups etc, We have all seen this . But a guy going for an Award or Badge . Holysiht ! He's tossing medic bags or ammo or following your vehicle with his wrench out.
A guy going For his Medic Badge stays with a group, dispensing health bags and giving revives. The same with support or Repair. If he notices some one in that kit with the group already doing the same, he will usually seek out a group who lacks his kit. He can usually be found desperately seeking knowledge on how to further polish his craft. In effect he becomes a better player, a better team player and an asset to the people near him.
Further improvements on this line could be.
To encourage people to join squads, It should be slightly easier to accumulate points while in a squad. For example maybe if you get four points you'd get an additional one for being part of a squad or maybe a squad point with every seven you earn. This would be useful for the Expert badges as it could really make a difference that extra point or two. The UAV and Scan spots could last Slightly longer for a player who was in a squad as opposed to the isolated lone wolf.
Still some people only join squads to use the command screen or occasional spawn forward. And then they wander off from their squad entirely being of no tactical use. The Squad is full and no one else can join, yet it wont or cant act as a Team. To promote squad tactics they should make it so being with your own squad would have additional benefits. For example. Health, Ammo or Repair could be dispensed, accepted, effected or absorbed faster by your own Squad members. Example, if a Medic can Give 5 health Bars in 4 or 5 seconds, His own Squad mates could absorb it in 3 or 4. The distance at which assistance could be given or received should be slightly greater for your own squad members. The same with Repairs. Damage could be repaired quicker if its your squad mate. If you spotted someone or some thing the spot would last a bit longer on your squad mates mini maps. I think this would over all facilitate better team play and tactics. You would find Squads would be more well rounded with different kits.
We have all seen how just three or four clan members can really swing a game in even a 64 player server. Its Team work. I believe this would promote the game as it was designed, and if you were just having fun, You really wouldn't notice the differences implemented. Also, I cant see how this would be a detriment in any form.
I really wanted to double post this in Chatter and BFS2 but thought they get pissed.
" Well miss. First off, I will teach you how to post, And after a couple of nights, when you get the technique down, Hell we can even put you on a horse "
