I need a new moby, normally when I buy a mobile I make the worst conceivable decision and regret my purchase, anyone have any suggestions??.

I tend to like a decent camera as I like to catch those embarrassing moments of my mates getting off with various munters, when they have their beer goggles on.  But I'm not bothered about the MP3 aspect of a phone, my iPod does that job.

Cheers, Switch.

Sony usually have the best camera phones, but the better ones are a bit pricey.

I'm happy with my Samsung Z720.

What's your top price range?
What are your previous three phones?
Which one were you most happy with, and why?
Do you want contract or pay as you go?
If contract, with which provider?

Answer these, and then I may be able to help you.

Price doesn't matter

Nokia 7210 ,Nokia 6600 then a Samsung Z320i (Although I like Samsung, that phone was shite)

I was most happy with the 6600, although it was a brick it had great features for its time.  Something slimmer would be nice though.

Contract is preferable.

I usually go with o2 but I am open to suggestions.

Mines white though. It's a good phone.

SOny Ericsson K790i : 3.2 MP Camera, as you want a decent cam, this one should be perfect for ya..up here in Canada, without a contract it is around $400, so in Uk it should be around 200-300 range. i have a Nokia 8800, no features. Its just a showoff phone. I might sell it and get the k790

Good Luck

Heh, but the K800 has a cool little camera in the ear speaker so if you wanted, you could put it on speaker and then if you knew anyone at work, or with the same phone you would do a video chat thingy. But...probably wont be useful for years. The cheapest I could find on froogle.google.com was still $400...but again, thats the US .

Thank you.

I would suggest you look at the new Ultra II range from Samsung. Phones such as the sliders U600 & U700, put against their older cousins such as the D900 and sexily-thin X820 showcase the best of Samsung. If you want a really thin phone that isn't a slider or clamshell, then I may suggest the U100 (thinnest phone in the world). All of these Samsungs have great cameras (I believe they are all 3mp and above, but don't hold me to that).
Beyond Samsung, I'd look at a few Sony Ericssons such as the K800i. You'll be paying above the odds for them, however, and I prefer the Samsung UI. Also, since you've had a Samung and two Nokias before, you may be more suited to a Samsung.
The only Nokia I'd recommend at the moment is the N95 - do you want a phone with great data speeds (HSDPA & wi-fi)? If so, the Samsing's will do a good job (some of them), but the N95 would be only phone to truly consider.
Don't even think about a Motorola.
I'd think about Orange from my own experience - absolutely love the company. If you have other friends on Orange as well, all the better.

Hope this helps,
All the best,
Andy

Cheers mate, I had looked at the U600 and fancied it, and I do like the Samsung interface.  Some sound advice there +1.

Because of the FCC, you got the iPhone first though (not that I'll be getting it anyway).

It's a crippled piece of eye candy, although I'll give Apple the benefit of the doubt and say it's cause of AT&T's nazi restrictions.

edit: Right, I forgot our government is the little personal whore of big corporations =/

Was gonna suggest this, http://threestore.three.co.uk/offerdeta … tariffid=0

SCRATCH THAT

I got the same deal but its £17.50 for 12 months with 400mins, 250texts, 25mms and 25 video minutes and free handset.
http://threestore.three.co.uk/offerdeta … riffid=513

Pretty decent phone although the screen is prone to lil crap thin scratches, shutter is useful for when your too drunk to hit the buttons. Its got a nice rubbery finish there are updates to this phone but its the exact same phone just little better on the eye. Flash is good you can have the setting so its determines on its own whether to use it. I would admit the video recording is rubbish compared to the phone. Also the high quality pictures take up a bit of space and you may have to find yourself transferring them to your comp. You also have a 12 month thing with 3 so they repair it for free when I brought it they allowed me to choose £50 worth of shizney I opted for the 1gb mem stick.

3 are a decent service provider but they have call centres in India , never really had a problem with them you also get free sort internet from them which is good enough for football updates and news.

Note phone is a bit common but its a good thing you can always find stuff on the internet about it, there is also the N73 which is a smart phone with better video quality and all the smart phone bullshit. It looks ugly as fuck though.

U600 FTW ---> http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/samsung-u600.htm
If you don't mind something like a brick then check out Sony Ericsson's K810i - great 3.2 megapixel cam from SE tho the video recording quality on the Samsung is far superior!

You should check out the Blackberry Pearl--> http://www.blackberrypearl.com/

It's a pretty cool little phone with a 1.3 mp camera, mp3 player, and internet/e-mail etc.  Its got all the features that are available right now and I think it looks damn sexy.  Before you hear "Blackberry" and think "big and bulky," take a look, this is not.  I think it's around $150 here in America when you sign up for a contract, but I'm not too sure about any details from across the pond.

Edit: Fixed link.
