Can any of you fine people out there tell me if a EVGA nForce 680i SLi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (122-CK-NF68-A1) will fit in my (try not to flame) Dell E521.

Many thanks.

Probably, at a pinch though, not a very big case is it?

Just googled it, I would be supirsed if you couldnt get it in tho   Might need a bit of modding to get it in tho, mobo screws etc

Some Dell's use the BTX MoBo form.  that MoBo [(122-CK-NF68-A1)] is an ATX

Your DELL uses an BTX MoBo

Dell and other Computer manufacturers have proprietary cases and the mobo they use are not mounted conventionally. Hopefully some of mounting screws on your mobo will match up with the holes on the Dell case. I suggest compare the size of both motherboards and look if majority of the holes are in the same positions. The only problem I forsee is the I/O shield; it may be part of the case. You will be lucky if you can remove the I/O shield.

I've managed to rig up all manner of boards in various craptastic cases at work.  The hang up you will most likely see is connecting the case switches to the board.

Of course you can always start your PC with a screwdriver

Have you put an ATX Form factor Motherboard into an BTX form factor case?

That is irrelevant...

pro·pri·e·tary: one that possesses, owns, or holds exclusive right to something.

This is a proprietary Antec case. Antec possesses, owns, and holds exclusive right to that case.

BTX is a form factor of MoBo's just like ATX is. Based on that I would say it lacks originality or individuality. As there are Non (DELL,HP, ect.) BTX computers out there.

DO NOT use DELL's powersupply, it can and/or will destroy a non DELL mobo.(also DO NOT use reg PS with a DELL mobo[same thing])
If your MoBo fits, it will be upsidedown, or backwards. (I/O facing inside computer.)
[*]Add on cards will be a problem.

It seems that you do not understand the situation. Dell trys to make it so that it is harder to install aftermarket parts to your computer. You will be lucky to find an aftermarket case that will fit in there without frustration or long hours of adjustments. An example is my friend has a 5sided dell mobo that will only fit in his XPS case and in order to fit a 4 sided mobo he would have to extensive modifications to the case.

Good job Yeah, you will want to get a new case! I recommend a P180 - they are very cheap now and "the best air cooled case out there".
