Don't you just hate that horrible sound?
So I think one of my HDD's is about to say F YOU!
I have a 36GB Raptor as my primary drive, and a 80GB Seagate 80GB for storage and junk.
I've been noticing a clicking sound. Now, I've heard a click of death before....this sounds like it.
Also, my PC has been freezing a lot, if I try to move files or whatever. Sometimes it won't start, it will just sit there.
Today I couldn't get it to start, it went passed the XP splash screen, and then it froze on a black screen. I unplugged the IDE cable from the Seagate drive and it started first try. Now, is that just coincidence, or if my storage drive was bad would that mess things up?
I ran an error check on the Raptor in Windows (drive properties > tools > error check) and it came up fine I guess.
Soooo is it possible that if my secondary drive is bad that it would screw me over?
EDIT: Also is there any good programs to scan for HDD failure?
